With a powerful push from its legs, it began sprinting after Mismagius, heading straight for Cain.
It had deduced that Cain was the one commanding Mismagius, the Pokémon that had stolen its stone.
And though Mismagius was faster than him, Kabutops decided to change targets, directing its fury at Cain.
Seeing the Kabutops charging toward him, Cain’s expression shifted slightly. To be safer, he called out Haunter, who had been waiting in the shadows.
"Haunter, when Kabutops attacks, use Protect first; then Slowking will follow with his Protect just in case," Cain communicated telepathically.
As soon as he finished speaking, Mismagius flew back quickly and hid in Cain’s shadow.
There was no ti to examine the ga Stone Mismagius was holding.
Cain shouted, "Slowking, let’s go!"
The mont he spoke, Slowking, who had been ready, unleashed its psychic power, enveloping them all.
Seeing the glow of psychic energy, Kabutops pushed its speed even further.
One of its scythes, surrounded by red energy, was launched directly at Cain.
Slash!
The more critical the situation, the clearer Cain’s mind beca.
He watched the approaching scythe. It didn’t seem to move as fast as he’d imagined.
Just then, Haunter placed itself in front of Cain.
Although Haunter, being a Ghost-type, was immune to Normal-type moves like Slash, it didn’t want to take any risks since Cain was right behind it. Acting as Cain’s guardian, Haunter imdiately used the move Protect.
The green energy shield blocked Kabutops’ attack.

As the green energy shield faded, Slowking used the move Teleport.

Mismagius observed their surroundings, and once she understood they were safe, she patted her chest, showing she was still frightened.
Cain also sighed in relief.
Finally, he could feel joy filling his heart.
He had obtained a ga Stone!
Although he didn’t yet know which Pokémon it belonged to, having it was much better than not having it.
Cain pulled out a Pokéblock, Mismagius’ favorite treat, and as she smiled happily, he offered them to her one by one.
Discreetly, he took the ga Stone from Mismagius’ hands, filling hers with Pokéblocks instead.
Afterward, he sent Mismagius back into the shadows, happy and satisfied.
The Soothe Bell was definitely working well. Cain knew that with more ti, he could fully control Mismagius.
Holding the cold ga Stone, Cain felt like everything was a dream.
