Steven’s expression lit up with joy.
He had invested so much in training these two tang. With the resources of the Stone family and Devon Corporation, anything Steven could acquire, he imdiately provided to his tang.
As his first Pokémon, Steven shared a deep bond with them. He had always worked hard to train them, even asking Cain to prepare special Pokéblocks tailored for tang to help them grow better.
In truth, one of the tang had reached the level necessary for evolution long ago, but it lacked its other half, which prevented its evolution. That’s why Steven focused on training the second tang.
Not long ago, both tang reached the sa level, but for so reason, the anticipated evolution didn’t occur.
The last ti Cain called him, Steven had been out searching for special stones, hoping to trigger the evolution, but he hadn’t shared those details with Cain.
Despite his earlier efforts, the evolution didn’t happen.
Now, however, after defeating the quasi-elite-level Carupt, the two tang began to emit the light of evolution.
Naturally, the two tang moved closer together, and their auras evolved in unison.
This was the second ti Cain had witnessed a fusion evolution. The first was with Slowpoke and Shellder, who evolved into Slowking. But Slowking’s evolution was different, as Slowpoke dominated the fusion while Shellder played a supporting role.
In contrast, tang evolved as equals, rging completely in a balanced manner.

When the brilliant light of evolution faded, a new silver Pokémon appeared in the cave.
Unlike tang, which had only two claws and two eye, tagross had four claws, allowing it to maintain better balance. At the center of its forehead, a large white X gave it an even more imposing appearance.

tang had a base stat total of 420, while tagross reached a base stat total of 600—the standard mark for a pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
There were many aspects that couldn’t be reflected in a simple data chart. In a more detailed sheet Cain reviewed, the stats of this tagross, with its excellent developnt and formidable quality, were maxed out.
Realistically, the two tang together wouldn’t have been a match for this tagross.
It was only a matter of ti before Steven familiarized himself with it and unleashed its full potential in battle.
The two tang, now fused into tagross, also unified their thoughts completely. As the newly evolved tagross floated in front of Steven, he showed a genuine smile and evident confidence.
From this mont on, Steven’s journey to becoming Champion had truly begun.
The preparation of the tang, now tagross, had been long, and all the effort Steven poured into them would finally pay off.
After the evolution, Cain and Steven finally turned their attention to Butler, who appeared pale.
The defeat of Carupt, though unexpected, seed inevitable in hindsight. Uncontrolled power is never truly one’s own.
Beside him, Butler still had a Mightyena. Gritting his teeth, he seed ready to make one last stand. But this ti, Cain didn’t even need to intervene. Steven, with his new tagross, defeated Mightyena on his own.
Although Mightyena was a Dark-type Pokémon, tagross possessed the Miracle Eye move and many others at its disposal.
A Mightyena of dark green quality and level 48 quickly fell under the claws of the newly evolved tagross.
The power of a pseudo-legendary was fully revealed. Mightyena had no chance to counterattack, being struck repeatedly.
With a dull thud, Butler slowly collapsed to the ground. He had believed the sudden surge of power from Carupt would bring him great benefits and elevate his position within Team Magma.
The appearance of Cain and Steven had made him dream of greater possibilities, but harsh reality struck again.
The effort to turn Carupt into a raging beast had been his final mistake.
Of course, the coordination between Cain and Steven was key to their victory. Together, they defeated a quasi-elite-level Pokémon.

Turning around, they saw a man with red hair and a cape, exuding confidence.
It was Lance, the future Dragon-type Champion, coming to assist!
