Now reading: Chapter 532: Larvitar with a Backpack from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

This ti, Cain wasn’t away for long. He spent two days training alongside Steven on Mt. Chimney.

During those two days, Honchkrow and Weavile, whom Cain left in the backyard, didn’t relax in the slightest. Despite being on the verge of reaching the advanced level, they continued to train diligently.

Without Cain around, instead of slowing their training, they pushed themselves even harder.

Cain noticed their progress. Though it wasn’t visually apparent, the system-scanned stats showed an increase, proving their dedication.

However, what surprised Cain the most was Larvitar.

Despite being born not long ago, its body had undergone significant changes. Larvitar already had the highest body mass among all of Cain’s Pokémon, and its weight continued to increase.

Thanks to Cain’s planned feeding regin, which included daily calcium supplents through Miltank, Larvitar’s growth was accelerating.

Its size was now comparable to an average Larvitar, though the system still classified it as juvenile.

What delighted Cain the most was Larvitar’s growing ability to control its own weight. Now, when it ran across the ground, it no longer left deep, uneven footprints. While it still left marks, it could at least balance itself better.

With a bit more training, Cain was confident that Larvitar would master complete control over its body weight. Its developing physique still required consistent adjustnts, but once Larvitar entered its growth phase, stability would likely follow.

Most exciting was Larvitar’s innate ability to handle Ground-type energy.

As for its control over Rock-type energy, Cain wasn’t entirely certain. However, having been imrsed in the Geocentric Cleansing Milk for so long, its affinity for Rock-type energy was unlikely to be weak.

After all, when Larvitar evolves into Tyranitar, its Rock typing will be crucial.

Although Cain also had a Torchic with the Speed Boost ability and an Aron with unyielding resilience, both with great potential, it was Larvitar, the youngest, who exhibited the most impressive energy control.

When Cain returned to the backyard, Larvitar was visibly excited. It hadn’t been many days since their last eting, but for this baby Pokémon, it felt like an eternity.

Larvitar leapt toward Cain, and with its considerable weight, it managed to maintain balance. Cain, however, had to use both his psychic and physical strength to barely hold it.

As Cain patted Larvitar’s armor, which was already becoming rougher, he couldn’t help but sigh. The weight was truly astonishing.

Once Larvitar entered its growth phase, Cain knew he wouldn’t be able to carry it anymore.

Releasing all his Pokémon, Cain allowed them a brief rest before resuming training. Training had beco a daily routine for Slowking and the others; skipping even one day left them restless.

But this ti, Slowking’s team wasn’t the only group training. Torchic, Aron, Poliwag, and Mudkip—the four newcors—joined in for the first ti.

Although their regin wasn’t as intense as Slowking’s, it was far more demanding than their previous playful exercises.

After their first battle, these young Pokémon bid farewell to their carefree days.

The one who adapted best to this new reality was Aron, followed by Mudkip, Poliwag, and finally Torchic.

Aron, naturally combative, had always been the most enthusiastic about battles. Mudkip, while not as extre, also displayed a surprising passion for combat.

Poliwag, anwhile, was more accommodating. If Cain wanted it to train and fight, it would comply without hesitation, putting aside its own preferences.

Torchic struggled the most, but after its last battle—despite exhaustion and pain—it didn’t show any signs of giving up or complain to Cain.

Cain was pleasantly surprised by Torchic’s resilience, which exceeded his expectations.

And who was the most envious? Larvitar, of course.

With its small eyes sparkling with excitent, Larvitar watched the Pokémon training in the yard. If Cain hadn’t stopped it, it would’ve eagerly joined in.

"Now’s not the ti for you to train. Once your body finishes developing, even if you don’t want to train or fight, I’ll make you, so enjoy this ti while you can," Cain said, patting Larvitar’s small head.

Thanks to telepathy, Larvitar understood Cain perfectly. It obediently nodded, using its tiny hands to cheer on the other Pokémon.

As it waved its little arms, small fragnts of sand and rocks began to float around it.

Cain was thrilled to see this. Larvitar’s innate talent was incredible, living up to the expectations its mother had for it.

Watching the floating rocks, Larvitar grew even more excited, waving its arms faster to make the stones circle Cain.

Suddenly, Cain took out a small red object, roughly palm-sized, from his storage space.

Upon seeing it, Larvitar’s eyes lit up. The floating stones imdiately dropped to the ground as its attention focused entirely on the Groudon armor fragnt Cain held.

Looking between Cain and the red object, Larvitar’s eyes glead with an unmistakable desire.

Cain chuckled, tapping Larvitar’s head. "This is for you, but you’re not ready to handle it yet. You can touch it, but you’re not allowed to absorb its energy. If I catch you doing so, I’ll take it away imdiately."

Larvitar quickly nodded in agreent.

For so reason, an inner voice told it this red object would bring great benefits.

Cain took out a special cord and crafted a small backpack for Larvitar, placing the Groudon armor fragnt inside.

And so, Larvitar now sported a tiny backpack.

Eh... it looked pretty cool.
