Now reading: Chapter 533: The Little Groudon from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

Three days later, with everything in order in Leafy Town, Cain set off again with his Pokémon, this ti even bringing Larvitar along.

The night before, Larvitar had entered its growth stage, so Cain stored it in its Pokéball without any issues.

However, Larvitar’s current size was rather shocking. Its normal height should have been around 60 cm, but upon entering its growth stage, Larvitar reached a full ter tall.

With its considerable weight, it resembled a small growing monster, showing hints of Groudon in both size and mass.

Moreover, thanks to the Fragnt of Groudon’s armor it carried, Larvitar’s ability to control Ground-type energy was far greater than anyone might have expected.

Cain was extrely satisfied with Larvitar’s progress in mastering Ground-type energy.

After Larvitar finished its initial growth phase, Cain also had it practice using Rock-type energy. As expected, Larvitar demonstrated remarkable proficiency in both types of energy, fulfilling its role as a sandstorm beast.

The ti Larvitar spent subrged in the Geocentric Cleansing Milk, while almost preventing its hatching, had yielded nurous benefits: not only had it increased its lifespan, but it had also significantly improved its weight, size, and energy control.

More importantly, its mastery of Ground-type energy could potentially reach even greater heights thanks to the Fragnt of Groudon’s armor strapped to its back.

When Larvitar evolves into Tyranitar, Cain will likely be able to call it "the little Groudon" without hesitation.

Even though Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark-type Pokémon, the Ground-type moves Larvitar has learned will remain.

While they won’t receive the sa type bonus, this won’t stop Tyranitar from using Ground-type moves with great effectiveness.

Pokémon: Larvitar (Dark Blue)

Gender: Male

Level: 5

Type: Rock Ground

Ability: Guts

Held Item: Fragnt of Groudon’s armor

Egg Moves: Dragon Dance, Outrage, Ancient Power, Stealth Rock

Basic Moves: Bite, Leer, Sandstorm

Learned Moves: Snore

TM Moves: None

These are Larvitar’s current stats after completing its initial growth phase. Every ti Cain reviews Larvitar’s egg moves, he feels just how exceptional it is.

This Pokémon could very well determine Cain’s ultimate potential as a trainer.

While he might not need Tyranitar to beco an elite-level trainer, if Cain wishes to progress beyond that level, he will likely have to rely on this future Tyranitar’s potential.

It will be one of Cain’s strongest Pokémon and a key factor in determining the limits of his growth.

Seated on his Tropius, Cain flew toward Mauville City, enjoying the fresh morning air. His primary goal for this trip was to help Haunter complete its evolution.

Yesterday, thanks to information obtained from Team Rocket, Cain discovered the exact thod for evolving Haunter.

After analyzing the data, he learned that the key was to expose Haunter to extrely dense Ghost-type energy, allowing its gaseous body to transition into a more solid form.

This didn’t surprise Cain, as when Haunter absorbed the ghost energy from the black pillar in the ghost cave on Trial Island, its body had already begun to transform—unbeknownst to Haunter itself.

However, at that ti, Haunter’s potential wasn’t fully developed. If it had evolved then, its future growth would have been limited. That’s why Cain stopped its evolution back then.

Now, if Cain could return to Trial Island, he could easily make Haunter evolve. But returning to the island wasn’t simple—not even Cain knew its exact location.

Trial Island was a major Team Rocket base, and Cain didn’t yet have the rank needed to access it.

So, he would have to find another place.

Fortunately, every region has a renowned location where the souls of deceased Pokémon are laid to rest. In Kanto, there’s the Pokémon Tower; in Sinnoh, the Lost Tower; and in Unova, the Celestial Tower, among others.

In the Hoenn region, this place is Mt. Pyre, located on Route 122.

This mountain is ho to many Pokémon remains and ashes, leading to a high concentration of Ghost-type energy.

The area is well-known, as this energy has given rise to nurous Ghost-type Pokémon. Trainers specializing in Ghost-types often visit Mt. Pyre to catch so.

Like other such locations, Mt. Pyre is divided into external and internal areas. Most people can only explore the outer areas, where Ghost-type energy is abundant but harmless to humans.

However, the mountain’s interior is saturated with Ghost-type energy so dense it could affect Pokémon or humans, causing unpredictable consequences.

Rumor has it that anyone who stays too long inside might even turn into a ghost.

Cain had gathered all this information and knew that Mt. Pyre was the perfect place for Haunter to complete its evolution.

Thus, his primary objective was to head to Mt. Pyre.

However, the mountain was far from Mauville City, almost near Lilycove City, so Cain planned to rest in Mauville before continuing his journey.

Cain had left everything organized in Leafy Town. As the provisional gym leader, Skye had managed to ta the three Water-type Pokémon with Cain’s help, though he couldn’t yet use them to their full potential.

These Pokémon only obeyed Skye because of Cain’s influence. Over ti, as Skye grew stronger, he would be able to fully control them.

The gym had just opened, so there weren’t many challengers. Skye would stay at the gym, taking care of the tasks Cain had assigned him: recruiting staff and overseeing the construction of an artificial lake.

The efficiency of the Devon Corporation was remarkable. Their developnt team arrived in Leafy Town the sa day Steven left. Additionally, the Pokémon League construction team returned to build the new Breeders’ Guild headquarters.

Old Matsuda had officially been appointed president of the Breeders’ Guild branch in Leafy Town, while Cain was nad honorary vice president.

Although the title was honorary, knowing Matsuda’s personality, it was clear that in practice, Cain would have the final say at the guild branch in Leafy Town.
