"You... have the sa ability as I do?" Phoebe asked, surprised.
"My grandparents told this ability is very rare outside of here, and it turns out I et soone who can also communicate with Ghost-type Pokémon, right on my first outing," Phoebe thought.
"Are you referring to this? This is just telekinesis. What you used earlier to communicate with the Pokémon is a form of telekinesis; we call it telepathy," Cain replied, waving his hand to reveal the thin layer of psychic energy in his palm.
"Telekinesis? Telepathy?" Phoebe had never heard those terms before.
Isolated from the outside world, Phoebe wasn’t familiar with these concepts. Her entire life, both her grandparents and herself had referred to that energy as "Ghost Power."
However, this energy wasn’t rare among the three of them. What puzzled her was that, according to her grandparents, people outside their ho didn’t possess this ability.
"Is telekinesis the na they use outside for this ability?" Phoebe wondered.
Cain quickly noticed that the energy emanating from Phoebe was slightly different from his own, though he couldn’t pinpoint exactly how. This difference was likely why Phoebe hadn’t sensed his telekinesis.
Choosing not to dwell on the matter, Phoebe continued guiding Cain through the stone tunnel.
Entering the interior of Mt. Pyre, they found themselves in a peculiar space, like a small separate world. There were plants, flowing water, and a gentle breeze, but the sky was gray, without a sun.
The light inside ca from glowing stones and moss covering the mountain walls, making the illumination inside not much different from the outside.
"Is this the interior of Mt. Pyre? Or a strange alternate space?" Cain silently wondered.
In the Pokémon world, alternate spaces weren’t uncommon. Many Pokémon had the ability to create such spaces. For example, the Haunter hiding in Cain’s shadow wasn’t actually in the shadow; it had created an alternate space within it.
The sa went for Mismagius’s mysterious vault, filled with strange items, where there were likely more than a few Supre-quality Dusk Stones.
However, the high concentration of ghostly energy in this space was undeniable. This was the legendary Mt. Pyre, a place where few people could survive for long.
If soone stayed here too long, the ghostly energies would invade their body, corrupting their being.
It wasn’t surprising that telekinesis was required to enter this place. Without so form of psychic protection, the human body wouldn’t be able to withstand such energy.
"Co on, Cain. Don’t lower your telekinetic guard for even a second; otherwise, the ghostly energy will invade you quickly. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be able to protect two people with my ’spiritual force,’ but I see you can handle it on your own," Phoebe explained as she moved forward.
anwhile, the Dusclops that had accompanied them until now retreated; this was its true ho.
Cain observed a large number of Ghost-type Pokémon around him, many of them high-level and of great quality.
Compared to the Pokémon he’d seen outside, these were clearly superior, which made sense given the much denser ghostly energy here.
Haunter, who had stayed close to Cain all this ti, seed to thrive in this environnt, absorbing large amounts of ghostly energy with every breath. If it had to fight here, its endurance and battle power would multiply.
This place was a true paradise (or hell) for Ghost-type Pokémon.
Phoebe, evidently familiar with the area, knew not only every corner of the environnt but also all the Pokémon living there.
She had even given them all nas, and while so Pokémon seed indifferent, they inevitably responded when Phoebe called them.
The Dusclops that had left earlier was rely average compared to the other Pokémon here. If all the Ghost Pokémon in this area organized into an army, they could easily devastate several cities.
Even the combined forces of Mauville City’s underground groups would struggle to stop them. The level of power here was astonishing.
As they walked, Cain’s system kept scanning the Pokémon around him. Occasionally, he spotted one with excellent quality, near the upper limits of Ghost-type Pokémon.
With a bit of training, these Pokémon could reach their full potential.
After about twenty minutes of walking, they arrived at what appeared to be a tranquil garden with bridges and streams, though the lack of sunlight made it sowhat less charming.
In the center stood an old house, slightly out of place. In front of the house, two elderly people sat calmly: the grandmother knitting a sweater, and the grandfather enjoying a cup of tea, exuding an aura of absolute peace.
This place, though a bit cold and devoid of sunlight, was the perfect retreat for a peaceful retirent.
Phoebe, upon seeing her grandparents, ran toward them and shouted, "Grandparents! I brought soone!"
Hearing her, the elderly couple stopped what they were doing and turned their gaze to Cain.
They saw the telekinetic energy surrounding him, noticed the Haunter floating beside him, and finally focused on the Mismagius accompanying him.
Upon seeing Mismagius, both elders furrowed their brows slightly before exchanging a glance, confirming their thoughts.
However, the mont passed quickly. When Phoebe reached their side, both showed loving smiles, their wrinkled faces softening as they embraced their granddaughter.
Cain crossed the small bridge, approached the elders, and respectfully bowed, waiting in silence.
