Outside Fallarbor Town, Terrance stared at the mist giant shaped by Gardevoir using its psychic power, his mouth hanging open in amazent.
Cages, chains, shields, mazes—these could all be easily created by combining psychic power with Misty Terrain. Just as he had guessed, controlling Misty Terrain with psychic power was far easier than controlling Rain.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think Gardevoir ate Smoke-Smoke Fruit… ahem…”
Terrance shook his head vigorously, then looked back at Gardevoir, finally exchanging a glance with the Rotom Pokédex.
“We’ve finally found it—Gardevoir’s perfect training direction. Misty Terrain can further elevate the Fairy Domain, and with Gardevoir’s computational ability, it can precisely control the changes in Misty Terrain to support the entire team. Also, I think Misty Terrain might be able to develop even further.”
Misty Terrain was composed entirely of Fairy energy, and when it ca to the use of Fairy energy, if Terrance claid second place, no Trainer would dare claim first.
Within the combination of psychic power and Misty Terrain, Gardevoir might be able to use psychic power to alter the flow of Fairy energy.
Just like the shaping transformation just now…
Among Fairy-type moves, there is a move called Fairy Lock. In theory, if Gardevoir uses psychic power to shape mist ford from Fairy energy into chains, it would essentially achieve the effect of Fairy Lock. These chains could effectively restrain the opponent.
In addition…
Crafty Shield uses a mysterious power to block status moves targeting allies. Gardevoir doesn’t know this move, but it does know Magic Coat, a Psychic-type move with a similar effect. So Terrance wondered whether Gardevoir could use psychic power to imbue the mist with that sa effect.
Draining Kiss uses a kiss ford from Fairy energy to absorb the opponent’s energy and restore the user’s own. This is also an application of Fairy energy. Perhaps Gardevoir could try using the technique behind Dream Eater to give the mist the ability to absorb energy?
The origin of Psychic-type moves is psychic energy, and since Gardevoir can already fuse psychic power with Fairy energy, a Misty Terrain with limitless possibilities might not be just a fantasy.
As long as it strictly follows the principles behind Psychic-type and Fairy-type moves, why couldn’t Misty Terrain achieve all of these effects?
These were only the applications Terrance could think of in a short ti. He believed there were certainly many more tactics to be uncovered. But the imdiate priority was to have Gardevoir put these ideas into practice and test their feasibility. If successful, Gardevoir could fully build its strength around the fusion of Misty Terrain and psychic power.
This kind of battle style would be extrely difficult to counter, whether in standard battles or team fights.
With this technique in mind, Terrance and the Rotom Pokédex quickly devised an intensive training plan, supplented with enhanced computational ability training, all tailor-made for Gardevoir.
Then, Terrance finally welcod his 11th battle in the Champion League.
At Ever Grande Stadium, Terrance slowly walked toward the battlefield. His opponent was a veteran Trainer who specialized in Fire-type Pokémon—one could imagine this would be an extrely blazing battle!
Otae, the Fire-type expert’s na, was a mature woman with fiery red hair. Before the battle, she flirtatiously cast him a glance and said, “Master Terrance, please go easy on .”
“I’ll try,” Terrance replied with a slight smile as he threw out a Poké Ball. In the next mont, Tyranitar—having already devoured all of Terrance’s remaining Float Stones and fully mastered its light-heavy mode—made a shocking entrance!
Perhaps due to the accumulation during its Larvitar and Pupitar stages, or perhaps because of the birth of its second organ, Tyranitar’s speed in devouring Float Stones was astonishing. Before the 11th match, it had already completed its training with the Float Stone breeding thod.
As Tyranitar erged from the Poké Ball, both its feet slamd onto the ground. Its weight, more than three tis that of its kind, imdiately made an impact. The massive tremor forced the audience and Otae to cover their ears, staring in shock at the heavyweight beast that stirred up a sandstorm with just a simple stomp!
“Your opponent is…. Blaziken!”
Otae sent out Blaziken, the final evolution of Torchic, one of the Hoenn region’s Starter Pokémon. With its white feathers, bandaged sharp claws, and powerful legs, it stood firm against the raging winds of the sandstorm without flinching.
Blaziken’s feathers molt once a year, becoming more vibrant each ti. From this, Terrance could tell that this Blaziken had been carefully trained for many years.
“So that Pupitar evolved, huh? If I rember correctly, it has a technique to alter its own weight, I can’t be fooled by its heavy appearance.”
Otae clearly knew Terrance well and understood Tyranitar’s battle style.
As the battle began, Blaziken’s blue eyes radiated intense killing intent. Flas burst from its arms and legs as it launched a deadly attack.
“Low Kick!”
At full power, Blaziken’s speed was astonishing, almost turning into a red afterimage. If slowed down several tis, one could see that it raised its arms, using Flathrower to disperse the sandstorm’s visual interference, while its legs had already ford the attack stance. It intended to use its speed to trip this heavy guy before it could change its form.
“Screech!” Terrance commanded at the sa ti.
Facing the opponent’s move, Terrance knew evasion was impossible. Upon hearing the command and seeing the incoming enemy, Tyranitar stood its ground, opened its massive jaws, and unleashed a roar.
“ROAR!!!!!!!”
The deafening sound waves swept through the air, stirring countless shockwaves. Strangely, these shockwaves quickly picked up grains of sand, and as the sand rubbed together, it produced an extrely unpleasant noise. The combination of sandstorm and sound waves caused Blaziken to falter montarily.
In the next instant, Tyranitar suddenly turned and swung its thick tail, blasting countless grains of sand forward, forming a blade-like sandstorm that blocked Blaziken’s attack.
“Cha!!” Blaziken was clearly in great discomfort. It threw out consecutive Fire Punches to fend off the sandstorm from Tyranitar’s tail. Even so, it was still pushed back to its original position, and the two Pokémon returned to their starting situation.
As Blaziken felt its fists trembling, Tyranitar swiftly switched into extre-light mode, unleashing a technique so terrifying that even Blaziken was shocked. During this process, Tyranitar stirred up the sandstorm and, while striding forward at incredible speed, condensed it into a massive blade that swung down in an instant!
The sword-drawing technique!
A blade over ten ters long—if you can dodge it, I lose!
The shadow of raging sand descended. Facing this swift and violent strike, Blaziken’s expression changed as it unleashed its full power, erupting in blazing flas and using Flare Blitz to et the attack head-on.
