The sandstorm shaping system centered on air currents, when it collided with Blaziken’s ultimate move, displayed astonishing destructive power.
The constantly flowing grains of sand instantly sliced through the flas, pierced Blaziken’s defenses, and violently struck it down.
The sandstorm greatsword, with its imnse cutting power, instantly caused Blaziken’s body to cave in on impact, dealing terrifying damage. The strike was extrely fast, yet due to Tyranitar activating its second organ, a massive amount of sandstorm energy gathered without losing any lethality.
To the audience, the battle appeared almost completely one-sided. Tyranitar had fully revealed its ferocious nature.
"Co back, Blaziken."
Otae, with a serious expression, recalled her lead Pokémon and then sent out another—one primarily orange-red in appearance, with light skin near its mouth, three bright blue circular markings on each side of its body, and humps on its back resembling rock structures, making it look like a volcano.
Carupt, a Fire- and Ground-type, and also a formidable Fire-type Pokémon.
Facing this new opponent, Tyranitar, still exhilarated from its previous victory, was imdiately commanded by Terrance to use Outrage, turning it into a true sandstorm beast. With blood-red eyes, Tyranitar released an overwhelming pressure that nearly left Carupt unable to breathe. Having once fought the Legendary Pokémon Regirock and swept it aside with a single blow, how could Tyranitar hesitate against such an opponent? With a mighty roar from Tyranitar and Terrance’s command ringing out, Otae watched in disbelief as Tyranitar stomped and swept its tail, nearly destroying half the battlefield and forcing Nul into a desperate situation
"Earthquake!"
"Fissure!"
Two completely different commands pushed the battle into its most intense phase.
Ti passed quickly. In its fierce beast state, Tyranitar not only overwheld Carupt but also swept through four of Otae’s Pokémon in succession. It only collapsed from exhaustion and confusion when Otae sent out her fifth Pokémon. To deal with Otae’s remaining two Pokémon, Terrance sent out Ninetales. Although it took so effort due to type disadvantage, it ultimately handled them smoothly.
The battle seed fierce, but the final result was suffocating. Last ti, against Grass Star Style Grayson, Terrance had used four Pokémon. This ti, he had only used two?
"After that Pupitar evolved, it won’t be easy for future opponents to force this Contest Master to reveal new Pokémon."
A Champion League contestant standing on a high platform watched Terrance’s back and the sand that had even scattered beyond the battlefield, showing a thoughtful expression. He couldn’t understand why Tyranitar possessed such terrifying power imdiately after evolving... just what was that Tyranitar?
They didn’t understand, but that didn’t stop them from judging Terrance’s strength based on it. Beautifly, Tyranitar, Ninetales, Gardevoir—just these four Pokémon already ford an impenetrable wall in Terrance’s hands, not to ntion even stronger ones like Arcanine, Mismagius, Castform, Gallade, and Altaria that hadn’t yet appeared.
"Perhaps only in the final rounds, when those few seeded contestants hailed as the most likely to beco Elite Four candidates face each other, will Terrance truly go all out."
So high-ranking League officials were secretly observing the match. Among them, a middle-aged man with a white beard held the latest report, revealing a surprised expression.
Contest Master Terrance had applied for entry into the Super-ancient Pyramid and had easily defeated the Pyramid King Brandon in the assessnt battle. This piece of information had shocked quite a few old fellows in the League.
The Super-ancient Pyramid was one of the most dangerous places in the Hoenn region. It was generally used as a training ground for the forr Elite Four mbers. The minimum requirent to enter is to be an Elite Four–level expert proficient in team battle systems. It is said that this ti, Brandon tested Terrance with a lineup even stronger than usual, yet he was still easily defeated. Wouldn’t that an that Terrance’s strength in team battles had already reached the pinnacle?
One must know that this guy hadn’t even enjoyed the many benefits provided by the Pokémon League to Elite Four mbers. It’s no surprise that so many people were shocked that he had reached this level ahead of ti.
"Mr. Terrance, what’s your next destination?"
"Arrange a private helicopter for . I’ll need to bring quite a lot of supplies this ti."
As soon as Terrance walked out of Ever Grande Stadium, he imdiately said this to assistant Sharan.
The Super-ancient Pyramid was located in the eastern part of Hoenn, even further east of Lilycove City, within a windless zone.
Decades ago, when the Pokémon world was still in the age of sailing, crossing that region was extrely difficult. Moreover, because it was far from land, few dared to challenge the ocean with just a Flying-type or Water-type Pokémon. As a result, very few Trainers had ever even seen the Super-ancient Pyramid. Those who could reach that area were undoubtedly very experienced Trainers, yet among them, not a single one had ever fully conquered the pyramid, until Mr. Brandon arrived.
Terrance believed he wasn’t much weaker than Brandon in his younger days, so this Super-ancient Pyramid was sothing he could attempt.
"A 21-floor pyramid, with each floor separated by special altars from the Super-ancient civilization that block all other ans of teleportation. You can only leave or proceed to the next floor through specific locations. That ans, judging by the entrance positions on each floor, you have to traverse vast areas of every floor... and I rember this island is quite large..."
A day later, after preparing most of his supplies, Terrance arrived at the island where the Super-ancient Pyramid was located. Since it was his first ti here, he made thorough preparations, carrying a large pack as he landed on the island. Although he had visited other Danger Zones such as mountain range, caves, and ruins, this island gave him a very different feeling.
It felt as though the entire area was shrouded in a mysterious force. His psychic power felt suppressed, as if he had to keep his mind constantly tense just to alleviate the sensation.
Upon stepping onto the island, Terrance finally understood the aning of "colossal". A structure of such imnse scale would be nearly impossible to construct by human effort alone.
Terrance slightly raised his head, yet couldn’t even see the top of the pyramid. He guessed that such a structure was most likely built with the power of Pokémon.
"Drip..."
Perhaps because the area lay within a windless zone, the entire island was eerily silent. Even the sound of a single drop of water falling could be heard clearly. After walking forward a few steps, Terrance gazed at the pyramid, steeped in the traces of history, and revealed an expression of awe. From his vantage point, he could only see a small portion of it, but even that looked like a magnificent piece of art placed before him.
The ancient patterns on it seed even older than those of Mirage Tower, instantly captivating him.
"It must have a history of at least ten thousand years." This was Terrance’s preliminary judgnt.
Taking out his map, he slowly moved forward. The entrance to the Super-ancient Pyramid was still far away. Following the path upward, he gradually made his way toward higher ground.
At a corner, an old man sat in front of a wooden hut. When Terrance passed by, the man opened his eyes. "Show your token."
"Mr. Yoshi?" Terrance stopped, took out his license for entering the Super-ancient Pyramid, and handed it over. This old man had once been Mr. Brandon’s exploration partner. For so reason, he occasionally stood guard here in Brandon’s place. According to Brandon’s instructions, handing over the token would grant direct entry.
This thod made Terrance complain inwardly more than once. Despite how advanced communication had beco, they were still using such outdated traditions, with no intention of keeping up with the tis.
