"Roar?"
If the earlier Ogerpon had only made Bloodmoon Ursaluna feel a hint of threat,
then the current Ponpon possessed power that made it genuinely wary.
What just happened?
A flicker of confusion crossed the ferocious bear's face.
"Don't bla for being underhanded, Bloodmoon."
Sora stood behind Ogerpon. Victini rested on his shoulder, while Lilligant remained at his side like a bodyguard.
"You're a powerful Pokémon that's survived since the Hisui era. If I want to defeat you, I need to be fully prepared."
"???"
Bloodmoon Ursaluna glanced at the glowing, aura-flaring Ogerpon—looking like a battle-hardened warrior—then back at Sora, who was speaking with complete seriousness.
Ursaluna's inner reaction:
Do you hear yourself right now?
Is that supposed to be fair?
Fine.
If the human wasn't going to play fair, then neither would it.
"BOOM!"
Without any visible charge-up, a barrel-thick beam of crimson energy erupted from the blood-red moon symbol on its forehead.
The speed was astonishing.
It was impossible to imagine how much ti this creature had spent mastering that move.
"Send it back!"
Sora chose to fight alongside Ogerpon.
His command was short and decisive—issued even before the attack fully ford.
"Poné!"
Ogerpon's mastery of the vine club technique was no less refined than Ursaluna's control of its Blood Moon attack.
Green light flared in her hands.
The vine club materialized instantly.
The next mont—
The erald club collided with the crimson torrent.
But—
The expected explosion never ca.
Instead, with a single powerful swing, Ogerpon deflected the raging beam, knocking it aside as if swatting away a branch.
"!!!"
At the exact instant she struck, Bloodmoon Ursaluna sensed overwhelming danger.
Its massive body shifted sideways.
The redirected energy blast tore through the forest behind it, while the force of Ogerpon's strike continued forward.
The ground shattered.
Trees snapped.
The earth itself looked plowed by a violent storm.
Between Ogerpon and Ursaluna, a section of the Tiless Woods simply ceased to exist.
"So this is the destructive power of Pokémon above level 80…"
A golden energy barrier unfolded in front of him—Lilligant's protection.
Peeking from behind her, Sora carefully observed the devastation caused by their first exchange.
"Absolutely terrifying."
He was now certain:
Bloodmoon Ursaluna's level was unquestionably above 80.
As for Ogerpon—no explanation needed.
With Victini's boost flowing through her, her internal energy had reached nearly level 90.
Otherwise, there was no way a simple vine club strike could have knocked back Ursaluna's signature Blood Moon attack.
Granted, Ursaluna had fired hastily, without reaching maximum output.
But Ogerpon had also attacked casually.
On paper, the advantage clearly belonged to Ogerpon.
In real combat, she wouldn't have the luxury of stacking Swords Dance boosts.
And even if she did—
Sora wouldn't issue that command.
The reason was simple.
Among Ogerpon's moves, only the vine club technique truly stood out.
Her other moves were slower and less effective.
Instead of wasting ti on complicated tactics, it was far more efficient to rely on overwhelming power.
As for ways to trigger her stat boosts—
"Lilligant, Energy Ball."
She didn't possess moves that directly inflicted debuffs on allies.
So Sora used a workaround:
Trigger Defiant as quickly as possible.
"Roar?"
Across the field, Bloodmoon Ursaluna saw Lilligant preparing to attack.
Its gaze sharpened.
Its body shifted into a defensive stance, ready to dodge.
It had no complaints about being attacked by multiple Pokémon.
Coming from the ancient Hisui era, it had never believed battles had to be one-on-one.
Group fights happened all the ti back then.
Now the roles were simply reversed.
Bring it on, human.
It had been years since it last faced multiple strong opponents.
But what happened next caught it completely off guard.
The Energy Ball Lilligant launched was small—
And not aid at Ursaluna at all.
"Ping! Ping! Ping!"
Without even turning around, Ogerpon swung her vine club rapidly, batting away five or six marble-sized Energy Balls like pebbles.
"Roar?"
Ursaluna froze.
Confusion spread across its face.
Weren't they allies?
Why is she attacking her own teammate?
"Ponéao!!!"
It didn't remain confused for long.
Because the surge of power erupting from Ogerpon suddenly made the massive bear feel sothing it rarely experienced:
Fear of death.
What is happening?
Its pupils shrank.
It stared at Ogerpon in disbelief as her strength spiked yet again.
This made no sense.
Absolutely none.
The small figure in front of it looked fragile—but her aura was rising like an erupting volcano, climbing higher and higher at an impossible rate.
Was this even normal?
Was this still a Pokémon battle?
How could soone get stronger just by knocking away a few tiny projectiles?
"Enough, Ponpon."
Sora called out.
"Vine club."
"Ponéao!!"
She didn't need detailed instructions.
When it ca to hitting things with a club, Ogerpon was an expert.
"BOOM!"
Her small body unleashed explosive force.
The ground beneath her feet shattered.
To Ursaluna, she beca a streak of green light—faster and more violent than the Blood Moon itself—slamming directly into its body.
Danger!
Acting on instinct, Ursaluna crossed its arms to block.
But it had underestimated her strength.
The impact felt like the forest itself had crashed into it.
Its arms were forced apart.
Pain surged through its body—so intense that even this apex predator nearly howled.
First strike — arms.
Second strike — head.
Ogerpon swept upward, knocking its guard wide open.
Its vital point was exposed.
Now!
Gripping her vine club with all her strength, the little oni brought it down toward Ursaluna's forehead.
She wasn't worried about killing it.
Pokémon possessed natural self-protection chanisms.
The first knockout only resulted in loss of battle capability.
As long as no one continued attacking after collapse, fatal injury wouldn't occur.
So—
Fall.
Ogerpon bared her small fangs, seeing victory within reach.
"Down you go, big guy!"
