Danger!

Sensing the lethal threat descending from above, Bloodmoon Ursaluna's single eye flashed with fierce resolve.

At the last possible instant, it raised its left arm and braced it over its head.

Thud!

The vine club crashed down with terrifying force.

The sound of bone shattering echoed through the night as one of Ursaluna's arms fell limp.

"Urgh…"

Pain that would drive ordinary Pokémon mad surged through its body.

Yet Ursaluna clenched its fangs, suppressing the howl that threatened to escape.

Its eyes burned crimson.

The agony flooding from its arm turned into volcanic killing intent, sending violent waves of energy surging through its body.

Before Ogerpon could even land, the counterattack had already begun.

Boom!

Its remaining right arm swung forward.

A devastating Focus Punch slamd toward Ogerpon, who was still suspended in midair.

With nowhere to dodge, she crossed her vine club in front of her body.

The mountain-shattering force made even Ogerpon's grip tremble.

Bang!

Her small body was blasted backward.

But she didn't panic.

She flipped gracefully in the air and landed steadily in front of Sora.

"Poné?"

She hadn't expected Ursaluna to be so decisive—willing to sacrifice an arm just to block her finishing strike.

"ROAR!"

Yet Ursaluna wasn't done.

Golden light gathered inside its mouth.

Almost the mont Ogerpon regained her footing, a beam of annihilating energy engulfed the battlefield.

Hyper Beam.

"Ponpon, dodge!"

The attack was too fast.

Sora could only issue a hurried command while diving to the side himself.

"Poné!"

Ogerpon reacted instantly, slipping out of the beam's path.

Hyper Beam was devastating—but its drawback was just as severe.

Normally, after firing it, a Pokémon would be forced into a brief period of immobility.

The reason was simple:

Moves of such extre power disrupted the user's internal energy flow.

This is our chance…

Recalling the chanics of the move, Sora prepared to order a relentless follow-up attack.

Then—

Bzzzz—

"Wait… that's wrong."

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a growing golden glow sweeping toward him.

A chill ran down his spine.

"Holy—!"

He froze as the beam swung sideways, mowing down everything in its path.

It was aid at him.

"Directly attacking the trainer?!"

No hesitation.

Sora turned and sprinted.

He might be physically fit—but unless you were a legendary-level human, nobody was tanking a Hyper Beam with their body.

But Ursaluna had locked onto him as the true culprit.

Its head rotated.

The golden beam chased after the fleeing trainer in an instant.

You've got to be kidding , Ursaluna!

Attacking the trainer? Seriously?

Would Ursaluna care?

Not at all.

It was a survivor from the Hisui era.

Back then, Pokémon attacking humans was completely normal.

In fact, from its perspective:

Eliminating the trainer directly was often far easier than fighting their Pokémon.

"Poné?!"

Ogerpon was equally stunned.

She was ancient too—but in her understanding of battles, Pokémon simply didn't target trainers.

Now, separated from Sora by distance, she tried to rush to his aid.

But against the speed of Hyper Beam—

She was too late.

In that mont, Ogerpon felt even more terror than Sora himself.

The thought of watching him die in front of her was unbearable.

If that happened—

She would lose control completely.

"Vini!"

"Lilligant!"

Fortunately, Sora wasn't fighting alone.

Victini and Lilligant were already nearby.

They had been caught off guard—but now that they understood what was happening, sothing inside them snapped.

"Lilligant!!"

A barrage of Energy Balls collided with the beam, detonating it early.

The explosion diverted the attack just enough to save Sora's life.

And the instant she saw him safe—

Victini's fury ignited.

Her small body turned into a blazing red projectile, slamming straight into Ursaluna's face and blasting the massive Pokémon onto its back.

Boom!

Wind from the explosion hurled Sora several ters across the ground.

He hit hard—but forced himself back to his feet, breathing heavily.

"Ha… ha…"

"So this is what battles in the Hisui era were like…"

He winced.

"Feels like I almost died."

Surprisingly, he wasn't angry.

He had ntally prepared for danger before coming here.

What shocked him was how decisive Ursaluna had been.

It ignored Ogerpon after both targets dodged—

And imdiately switched to eliminating the trainer.

Even more alarming was sothing else.

"The casting speed…"

"And the duration…"

He replayed the sequence in his mind:

The Focus Punch that blasted Ogerpon away.

The sustained Hyper Beam that kept sweeping the field.

"This guy's move mastery is on another level."

Regaining formation, Victini and Lilligant stayed glued to his sides, guarding him closely.

Neither dared relax.

Not against a monster like this.

Then he looked at Ogerpon.

Seeing Sora attacked had triggered a flood of mories:

The missing man.

The blood left behind in the cave.

The cruel faces of the attackers.

"PONÉAAAAH!!!"

Anyone who dared harm Sora—

Had just signed their own death warrant.

I will kill you.

The ferocity sealed inside her heart finally burst free.

Brilliant green light erupted from her mask, spreading outward into a radiant crystalline shield.

Her exclusive transformation had begun.

Terastallization.
