"Return, Infernape."

After checking on his partner and confirming that Infernape had rely fainted, Brock finally let out a sigh of relief.

Though he couldn't quite accept the outco, he wasn't soone who couldn't handle defeat. As he began treating Infernape's injuries, he looked at Sora Kenji with intense curiosity and admiration.

"Mr. Sora Kenji, your Lilligant is truly strong."

"May I ask how exactly you trained her?"

"Well…"

Sora Kenji smiled.

"Everyone has their own secrets."

"Ah—sorry, sorry."

Brock laughed awkwardly.

"In any case, thank you for the lesson. You must be an extrely powerful trainer, right?"

"More or less."

Sora Kenji neither confird nor denied the assumption.

People were like this.

When you lost to soone, you naturally hoped your opponent was as strong as possible.

That was exactly Brock's mindset right now.

Pokémon battles were never limited to one-on-one matchups.

But recalling that terrifying Energy Ball from monts ago, Brock instantly lost any desire to continue sparring.

They weren't even on the sa level—what was there to discuss?

Among his remaining five Pokémon, none were stronger than Infernape, nor did they hold any type advantage.

Against a Lilligant like that, the result wouldn't be any better than Infernape's.

So he chose not to embarrass himself further.

"Great job."

On the other side, Sora Kenji gently stroked the flower atop Lilligant's head. Then he took out her favorite Grass-type energy cubes—and quietly slipped a few snacks to the invisible Victini as well.

"Bini!"

Hearing the cheerful cry near his ear, Sora Kenji couldn't help but smile warmly.

Keeping things fair between his Pokémon was sothing he considered himself a professional at.

Additionally, thanks to Lilligant's victory, Victini had gained a small amount of Victory Energy.

For Victini, Victory Energy functioned much like experience points in a ga—it strengthened her power.

The battle had started suddenly—

and ended even faster.

But Sora Kenji hadn't relied on Victini's power.

Victini was known as the Victory Pokémon—a trainer who possessed her was said to never lose.

Yet in Sora Kenji's view, there were many nuances hidden behind that legend.

According to myth, Victini possessed infinite energy.

However, Sora Kenji believed this "infinite energy" wasn't quite as exaggerated as the stories suggested.

First, there was the matter of output limits.

The little one had existed for countless years since her birth, yet she was still far from reaching her true ceiling.

Using ga terminology, if Pokémon energy levels ranged from Level 1 to Level 100, then the Infernape that just battled Lilligant would be roughly around Level 40.

And don't assu Level 40 was weak.

In reality, it was like temperature in a fla—each incrental level brought a qualitative leap in power.

The reason Lilligant had overwheld Infernape was simple:

Her energy level had already surpassed Level 60, and was approaching Level 70.

Of course, in this world there were no official labels like Gym-level, Elite-level, or Champion-level.

Energy level simply described the magnitude of power a Pokémon could display.

It wasn't an absolute predictor of victory.

Pokémon battles were extraordinarily complex competitions.

Even a Level 30 Pokémon could defeat a Level 40—or even Level 50—opponent with superior tactics, excellent command, and quick adaptability.

A Pokémon's level was determined by two factors:

the quality of its energy

and

the quantity of its stamina

Take Lilligant as an example.

That massive Energy Ball earlier hadn't been her limit.

During daily training with Sora Kenji, she could form an Energy Ball up to two ters in diater.

And she could launch five or six of those within a few minutes before becoming exhausted—requiring several hours, or even half a day, to fully recover.

That was the difference between energy intensity and energy reserves.

Now consider Brock's Infernape.

In a real battle, how many full-power Flathrowers could it unleash?

Reality wasn't a video ga.

There was no such thing as casually using the sa move thirty tis.

The elental energy within a Pokémon was finite.

Once depleted, both mind and body would fall into exhaustion—resulting in loss of combat capability.

Moreover, every move placed strain on the body.

Activating elental energy was like circulating internal force through ridians.

Each use caused a certain degree of wear and tear.

The best example was Pichu and Pikachu.

When Pikachu was still a Pichu, it would often knock itself out with its own electricity.

That was why defeat in battle didn't only co from being knocked unconscious.

It could also co from:

physical exhaustion

ntal fatigue

accumulated bodily damage

Now, back to Victini.

Her energy level couldn't be asured purely by quality and quantity.

Because in terms of energy reserves—

the energy inside Victini was practically limitless.

What did that an?

Simply put:

If Victini unleashed her full-power ultimate moves, she could keep fighting nonstop for an entire day.

Throughout that process:

She wouldn't feel tired

Her body wouldn't suffer the usual wear from energy use

Only if she released overwhelming power in a very short ti—beyond safe limits—would she experience pain and severe damage.

If assigned a nurical level, Victini's current level would be only slightly higher than Lilligant's—

around Level 72.

So people might find that surprising.

How could a Pokémon that had lived for a thousand years be only this strong?

But the truth was simple.

Victini was a Pokémon that grew stronger through Victory Energy.

During her ti with the old king, she had functioned less as a combatant—

and more as a companion and pet.

As a result, her potential had never truly been developed.

Of course—

a Level 72 Pokémon with infinite stamina and energy was fundantally different from ordinary Pokémon that could only unleash a handful of Level 70 moves before collapsing.

That alone placed her in an entirely different category.

And beyond that, Victini possessed a second advantage.

Her energy had universal compatibility.

Whether it was:

human stamina

life force

chanical power

electrical energy

Victini could supply it all—without any risk of energy conflict.

That was precisely why Sora Kenji's Lilligant had been able to grow from a Petilil below Level 10 into a powerhouse approaching Level 70 in just two short years.

The secret wasn't luck.

It was the value—

of an Infinite Pokémon.
