Every ray of light in the entire arena seed to converge on that single spot.
Radiance exploded outward, intertwining shadows and brilliance in breathtaking waves.
"It's evolving!" Brock shouted in shock.
"Huh? Is that strange?" Dawn asked, confused.
"Buneary's evolution requires extrely high compatibility and friendship with its Trainer," Brock explained.
"That ans… Peter has already achieved that level of bond."
Roark continued, eyes locked on the tall figure standing proudly at the edge of the field.
"For a rookie Trainer… soone who hasn't even been traveling for two months yet…"
His heart refused to calm down.
At last, the white light slowly faded.
And a brand-new Pokémon stood where Buneary once was.
The once small, cute body had grown several tis larger—tall and slender.
The creamy fur that once covered its belly had mostly vanished, remaining only around the wrists and lower legs.
Wing-shaped tufts of fur ford its brows, fluttering gently in the air.

"Congratulations, Buneary… no—Lopunny," Peter said, his voice thick with emotion.
The joy and bond surging in his heart intertwined, spilling out as a smile he couldn't suppress.
"Now then—let see your new power!
High Jump Kick!!!"
Ash tensed imdiately.
"Be careful, Pikachu! Iron Tail—counter it!"
"WHOOSH—BANG!!!"
Before the words even finished echoing, a violent gust of wind tore through the arena.
Lopunny appeared behind Pikachu.
At so point, several fine cracks had ford across the ground at the center of the field—
And at their intersection, Pikachu was already lying motionless.
"Pikachu is unable to battle!" Roark announced loudly.
"The winner is Peter and Lopunny!"
With that declaration, the battle finally ca to an end.
"Mi-lo~!"
Gone was Lopunny's fierce battle aura. With a few light hops, it pounced straight onto Peter, knocking him flat as its soft pink tongue eagerly licked his face.
"Hahaha—alright, alright! You've grown up already, don't be so clingy~"
Peter laughed helplessly, lying on the ground as he rubbed its head.
"Mi-lo~ (Master, I want sothing tasty!)"
"Alright, today you can eat as much as you want!"
Peter took out Moomoo Milk and Pokéblocks while tending to its injuries.
At that mont, Ash walked over.
"That was amazing, Peter. I lost this ti—but next ti, I'll definitely win it back!"
Peter looked up and smiled.
"I'll be waiting for that."

After saying goodbye to Ash and the others, Peter held Indeedee in his arms and gently took Lopunny's hand as they headed back to the Pokémon Center.
Both a newly evolved Pokémon and a freshly hatched one needed full checkups.
As he walked, Peter's smile never faded—not because he had beaten Ash, but because Lopunny's evolution had given him a massive surprise.
