Now reading: Chapter 621 621: Aerodactyl from Pokémon: The Reincarnation Simulator, a Action novel by Hollowborn.

Its base stat total might not be high, at only 515. But its effective stat distribution is excellent, with most points heavily invested into Speed and Attack.

Furthermore, while Aerodactyl itself boasts extrely fast flight speed, it possesses the Rock typing, which counters the Flying type.

On top of that, they have a further ga Evolution form. Needless to say, the title of the ancient ruler of the sky is likely not a groundless rumor.

As for... why the ruler of the sky doesn't have the Flying type? That question shouldn't even exist. After all... looking like a dragon doesn't an it has to be a Dragon-type Pokémon. Flying fast doesn't an it has to be a Flying-type Pokémon. And a trainer holding the title of Dragon-type Elite Four doesn't necessarily have to use only Dragon-type Pokémon. Wataru, wouldn't you agree?

So it's completely normal for the ruler of the sky to lack the Flying type. As long as it can fly, that's enough. The situation with Aerodactyl is quite similar to Charizard. Inside the forr, Rock, Dragon, and Flying genes make up the largest proportions. Inside the latter, Fire, Flying, and Dragon genes make up the largest proportions.

However, only the two with the highest gene proportions manifest outwardly. The third-ranked gene only gets a chance to show itself when the first two genes are suppressed for so reason. For instance, fossil resurrection amplifies Aerodactyl's Rock gene and suppresses its Dragon-type gene, allowing the Flying attribute to take precedence.

As for Kazuya, he also needed Dragon-type energy to activate the Dragon genes inside his body. Only then could he suppress the Flying genes and successfully evolve into ga Charizard X.

"Floette, go help brother-kun! Use Fairy-type moves often, and do your best to prevent those Rock-type moves from hitting him!" Kazuya tossed Floette to his side.

He had frequently explained these theoretical concepts to Floette and brother-kun. Brother-kun was a poor student, but Floette was a top-tier student. He believed she understood exactly what Kazuya was talking about.

"Flo-ette!" Floette clutched her flower and imdiately lunged onto Charizard's body.

"Rua!!" Charizard had already breathed out a Fire Blast.

This was an excellent AOE move. Since brother-kun hadn't mastered any moves that could counter Aerodactyl, using the Fire-type moves he was best at was a much safer approach.

Boom! The Fire Blast exploded right in the middle of the Aerodactyl group. Two of the weaker Aerodactyl were instantly blown away, but their injuries weren't severe. They turned around and furiously charged toward Charizard.

The other Aerodactyl also went into action. The pterodactyls, each five to six ters long, opened their fang-filled mouths and let out hoarse, low squawks. Truly terrifying.

This pack of Aerodactyl weren't blind; they knew who was more powerful. Therefore, they only dispatched a third of their mbers to deal with Charizard and Floette, while the rest all flew to attack Kazuya.

Whoosh! Aerodactyl's speed was lightning-fast. Without the boost from Extre Speed or specialized training, the Charizard line's speed couldn't match Aerodactyl's even if they were five or six levels higher.

Fortunately, Kazuya was no ordinary dragon. He casually dodged to the side, letting an Aerodactyl fly past him.

*Screeech—!*

A sharp cry like a bird rent the air as a flash of yellow lightning crossed the sky.

Bang! An Aerodactyl at the mid-tier Gym Leader level was instantly struck in the abdon by Kazuya's fist, crackling with electricity as it plumted from the sky. It was **[Paralyzed]**.

Paralysis wasn't enough to make Aerodactyl completely lose its ability to fly, but it heavily restricted its flight capabilities. When Kazuya had wings, he always placed great importance on dodging Electric-type Pokémon moves. Just like right now, that Aerodactyl strained with all its might, yet could only spiral down from the sky. Wanting to fly back up and rejoin the battle? It could only dream.

Bang! Turning around, he swung his fist, smashing an Ice Punch right into the mouth of an oncoming Aerodactyl.

"Crack!"

The Aerodactyl looked as if it had swallowed a dead rat, painfully clutching its throat as it flew erratically in the sky.

He casually dealt with two Aerodactyl with two punches. However, this didn't intimidate the remaining Aerodactyl. They still attacked Kazuya with all their might. But it was futile. Kazuya concluded the battle in just four minutes. And on his body, at most, there were only a few traces of blood.

Two fists struggle to fight four hands, let alone Kazuya facing over a dozen hands. Only taking a single hit was already considered exceptionally powerful. Furthermore, if it weren't for Rock-type moves being super effective against Charizard, taking this single hit would have been completely negligible to Kazuya. Let alone bleeding; if one had to look closely just to spot a faint mark, it already proved how powerful the Aerodactyl were.

The average level of this pack of Aerodactyl was around Lv. 63. Strong. Kazuya believed that in any terrain in this world, this would be considered relatively strong. One had to realize there was no Alpha among this group of Aerodactyl; this was just an ordinary Aerodactyl squad, yet their average level had reached the Gym Leader level.

From this, one could catch a glimpse of how powerful the overall strength of the Aerodactyl clan must be; the Alpha Aerodactyl was at the very least an Elite Four tier.

Turning his head to look to the side, Charizard and Floette were locked in a bitter struggle. Brother-kun's injuries were relatively severe; this was his first ti suffering such a massive disadvantage in attributes. If it weren't for Floette assisting him from the side, brother-kun would have definitely plumted toward the rocky mountains below, just like the Aerodactyl facing Kazuya.

Kazuya didn't step in to help. Brother-kun and Floette could win, it would just take a bit of effort. Facing a Pokémon species they were encountering for the first ti, Charizard and Floette felt sowhat unaccustod to Aerodactyl's reckless, hot-headed fighting style, inevitably suffering a few setbacks.

Kazuya didn't want to interfere in an opportunity that could both accumulate experience and make them stronger. It was inevitable that they would encounter Aerodactyl on the grassland in the future. Was it impossible? It was highly probable. Aerodactyl were completely unaffected by the swamp; if they couldn't cut it here in the rocky mountains in the future, nine tis out of ten they would fly to a comfort zone like the grassland to survive.

For a Pokémon like Aerodactyl, whose ferocity and brutality were written right into their Pokédex descriptions, it would be absolutely impossible not to clash with the Dragon Clan when the ti ca. Furthermore, Kazuya actually really wanted to subjugate an Aerodactyl clan. Six years had passed, and his desire to secure an aerial unit for the Dragon Clan had not cooled down; instead, it grew more intense by the day.

Having an aerial unit would not only make cross-regional communication convenient, but Kazuya could also personally lead expeditions to more distant regions in the future, conducting explorations with a much higher safety margin.

To subjugate an Aerodactyl clan... they definitely had to fight first. Taking an emotional approach wouldn't work. Aerodactyls were all sigma dragons; they had no feelings and only respected raw strength.

There weren't many mbers in the Dragon Clan capable of aerial combat. Brother-kun and Floette both had to be counted. Letting them adapt in advance now held nothing but benefits.

A dozen or so minutes later, the battle ended.

"Taking this long just to beat a few noobs, you two still need to practice." Kazuya crossed his arms over his chest, shaking his head and sighing.

This made both Floette and Charizard blush slightly; they also felt they hadn't perford well. The main thing was... when this group of Aerodactyl fought, they didn't follow standard patterns at all. They were completely different from the Pokémon on the grassland, and different from the volcano Charizard clan as well.

In truth, they had already worked very hard. Brother-kun was forced to work hard. As for Floette, it was only after their dragon dad's raid back then that she developed a desire to grow stronger. The source of this desire lay in 'wanting to fight side-by-side with everyone, wanting to protect the two dragon cubs'.

This desire to grow stronger wasn't exceptionally intense. After all, Floette genuinely loathed fighting. But it did exist, sustaining Floette over the course of six years to keep her level right on his brother's heels, maintaining a low Gym Leader level. In any case, Kazuya was already very satisfied. But at a ti like this, provoking them a bit would yield better results.

"Let's keep moving. Stay sharp. Goodra was right—the Pokémon in these rocky mountains are all warmongers. Even a passing dog would probably get kicked." Kazuya flapped his wings, flying in the lead.

Brother-kun was injured. Floette was currently using Wish to heal him. If there were further battles ahead, Kazuya would have to absorb most of the firepower. Raising his altitude, Kazuya looked into the distance and couldn't help but gulp.

Looking as far as the eye could see, there were at least fifty mountain peaks. And that was just what was visible; at the edge of his vision, there were perhaps unknown numbers of mountains. It was simply... like the Mt. Coronet range and the Mt. Silver range connected together.

Except the difference lay in the fact that the mountains of Mt. Coronet were mostly extinct volcanoes, while the mountains of Mt. Silver were mostly forested mountains. The mountains unfolding before his eyes, however, were mostly barren rocky peaks, with only a small portion being forested. He didn't know how many volcanoes were among them, but it felt like there were none. Greenery was basically confined to the 'buffer zones' between the mountains—those small-scale forests and plains.

"Flo-ette..."

"Roar..."

Floette and brother-kun were both left staring in awe. They couldn't imagine what kind of lives the Pokémon here lived. Kazuya also couldn't help but frown. No wonder the Aerodactyl they encountered at random had such high levels.

According to what Goodra's father had described, given the Pokémon populations here and the intensity of the competition, those still alive in this mountain range today... were either protected by a large clan or were powerhouses themselves. The weak were nothing but prey here. This was the place that truly unveiled the most brutal side of the Ancient Era.

Right then, a massive free-for-all seed to be taking place in the distant sky. Kazuya focused his gaze, and his scalp instantly went numb. **Garchomp**. **Hydreigon**. **Salance**. And watching coldly from the sidelines, completely on guard at all tis, were **Flygon** and **Altaria**.

"Good grief, a chaotic brawl full of dragons, and all three factions are pseudo-legendaries. Don't call it the Rocky Mountains; call it Dragon Mountain." Kazuya didn't waste any words. He turned around, pulling Floette and Charizard to leave imdiately.

These rocky mountains weren't sothing they could get involved with for the ti being. If nothing else, just those forty-odd pseudo-legendary dragons combined—every single one of them was a freaking level 50 Pokémon. What else was there to say? If there were any more at this level, they could swarm and beat Kazuya to death. Not to ntion he had his little brother and sister with him, making it impossible to let loose and fight with his full strength. They had to leave!

It was on this exact day that Kazuya profoundly and clearly understood why scholars of the League Era said that the Ancient Era was a ti when Dragon-type Pokémon dominated the entire planet.
