Vertress City. The Ruins.
Arriving at the scene, the group was greeted by a nightmare.
Buildings had collapsed into rubble. The majestic Alliance Headquarters was frozen into a massive, jagged block of ice.
The Elite Four stood disgraced, coughing in the dust, unable to stop the destruction.
Alder stood amidst the ruin, completely bewildered.
The dignity of the Unova Alliance had been crushed under Ghetsis's boot. Alder's face turned bright red with a mix of rage and sha.
First, because Ghetsis had successfully counterattacked the Alliance, slapping Alder hard in the face.
Second, because as the Champion for so many years, he felt he had failed in his responsibility to protect the region.
"GHETSIS!!"
Alder shouted angrily, his fists trembling.
"You dare!!"
Ghetsis, riding high on his Hydreigon, glanced down at Alder with utter disdain.
"Alder," Ghetsis sneered.
"Are you still trying to hold onto the airs of a Champion?"
"Look around you. In my eyes, you are nothing more than an ant! You are no longer worthy to speak to !"
Ghetsis didn't even bother to argue. He pointed a finger at the forr Champion.
"Black Kyurem. Ice Beam."
"ROOOAAAR!!!"
Black Kyurem roared. It opened its mouth, gathering a ball of pure, freezing energy. It fired a beam of absolute zero temperature directly at Alder.
If that beam hit, Alder and the Elite Four would be instantly frozen into ice statues.
Alder's expression changed to horror. Against a God like Black Kyurem, he had no way to parry.
At this critical mont, Sam stepped forward.
"Reshiram! Use Protect!"
"Graaah~!!"
The Holy Dragon of Truth let out a lodious chant. Reshiram flew in front of the group, flaring its wings.
It summoned the energy of the Dragon-type, constructing a shimring white force field.
BOOM!
The extrely cold beam collided with the shield. The ice eroded the energy barrier, crackling and hissing.
Reshiram strained against the pressure, pouring out vast amounts of Fire energy to counteract the cold.
It barely held.
The beam was blocked, but the ambient temperature plumted instantly.
It felt like they had been transported to the Arctic. White frost crept rapidly across the ground, freezing the rubble.
"Step back," Sam commanded calmly, not looking away from the enemy.
"Everyone."
"Black Kyurem's strength is not sothing ordinary Pokémon can fight against. This is beyond Champion level."
"Okay!"
Having experienced many dangerous situations with Sam, Cynthia was sensible. She grabbed Diantha's arm.
"Let's go. We need to give him room."
Sabrina didn't speak, but she retreated with the two won, her eyes fixed on Sam's back.
"Hmph!"
Alder was furious at the arrogant Ghetsis, but he was helpless.
His team, though strong, could not fight a God.
He grit his teeth and retreated silently with the Unova Elite Four.
Ghetsis didn't bother pursuing them. In his opinion, now that he controlled Black Kyurem, there was no power in this world that could stop him.
The ants could run; he would crush them later.
Sam stood alone, staring up at the fusion dragon.

This was the first ti since traveling to this world that Sam had seen a beast on the sa level as his Rayquaza.
Dragon Ice.
A terrifying combination.
Seeing Sam analyzing his weapon, Ghetsis smiled proudly.
"Well? Are you satisfied with my Black Kyurem?"
"Your Black Kyurem?"
Sam chuckled softly, disregarding Ghetsis's arrogance completely.
"You just used so external force to suppress Zekrom and Kyurem. Then, you used the DNA Splicers to fuse them forcibly."
"You didn't get their acknowledgnt at all. It's a hollow shell."
"Humph!!"
Ghetsis snorted coldly, his expression turning gloomy.
"I don't need their acknowledgnt!"
"Pokémon are just tools!" Ghetsis scread.
"As long as they work for , that is enough! Power is power!"
"Pokémon are just tools?"
Sam repeated the words, shaking his head.
"Pokémon, like humans, are independent individuals. Without their approval... if you only use force to control them... you can never stimulate their true potential. You cannot display their full strength."
Sam stopped looking at Ghetsis. He turned his gaze to the sky.
"Rayquaza," Sam whispered to the clouds.
"Show him what a real bond looks like."
As Sam's voice fell, a majestic, ancient Dragon Aura descended from the sky.
Rumble...
Countless turbulent air currents surged instantly. The dark clouds summoned by Kyurem were torn apart!
A massive, green, serpentine body, over 100 ters long, protruded from the endless turbulence.
"ROOOAAAR!!!!"
Rayquaza let out a high-pitched, piercing dragon chant.
It exuded a peerless pressure, the aura of the Sky High Pokémon!
Rayquaza had listened to Sam's call. It had flown from the ozone layer to join the fight.
The black dragon swung its massive body and landed gracefully in front of Sam. It lowered its head, waiting.
With a light jump, Sam landed on Rayquaza's head.
Instantly, the three Divine Powers (Aura, Psychic, Viridian) rged.
Sam and Rayquaza's heart and mind beca one.
"ROOOAAAR!!!!"
Rayquaza roared again, its aura skyrocketing instantly.
The pressure it released blasted straight toward Black Kyurem, challenging the usurper.
