Officer Jenny shouted back in response to Silas' question.
Normally, such progress wouldn't be disclosed to ordinary Trainers, in case there was a mole among them.
But since Silas was affiliated with the Pewter Gym, and considering how tense the current situation was, she hesitated for a mont before deciding to tell him.
Moreover, the tide had already turned in their favor, and there was little chance of further problems.
So of the people nearby also overheard her reply, and their anxious moods eased a little.
Not long after, a saucer-shaped Pokémon resembling a UFO ca flying rapidly with a man on its back.
"Raichu, Thunderbolt!"

Where once the area had been filled with the roars of Gyarados, everything suddenly fell into silence.
Only a few Pokémon belonging to the League Trainers continued to attack, but they quickly stopped in confusion, for the lake was now void of enemy Gyarados.
Everyone stood in shock. So this was the power of a Pokémon belonging to an Elite Four-level Trainer?
Silas was stunned. The power on display far exceeded his imagination.
Watching matches of Trainers at that level on video had never conveyed the true power of their Pokémon it all just looked flashy and dramatic.
But now, faced with this raw power in person, he realized just how absurdly strong Pokémon in this world could be. They were nothing like what the ani in his previous life had portrayed.
After all, nearly thirty Trainers had been fighting those Gyarados, and so had even been struggling to hold their ground. Yet Raichu had wiped them all out with a single Thunderbolt, seemingly without any effort.
Silas felt a little dazed. Are Elite Four mbers really that strong? This was truly the first ti he had witnessed one in action.
The UFO-shaped Magnezone carrying Gym Leader Surge slowly descended, and Raichu landed on the ground as well.
After giving a brief report to Officer Jenny, the Gym Leader turned to everyone and announced that the crisis had been resolved. Once their identities were confird, they could each go their separate ways.
As for the incident itself, the League would issue an official explanation later.
Everyone obediently stayed in place, awaiting their clearance to leave.
Surge walked over to Silas' side. "Kid, we et again!"
"Hello, Gym Leader Surge!" Silas greeted him absentmindedly, still lost in the mory of that overwhelming display just monts ago.
Surge chuckled. He knew exactly why Silas was acting like this he himself had reacted the sa way when he first saw an Elite Four Pokémon in action.
"Alright, don't overthink it. With the talent you and your Pokémon possess, you'll reach this level sooner or later. When that ti cos, you'll understand why they're so strong."
Surge patted Silas on the shoulder, signaling him to stay confident.
Silas nodded slightly, gradually regaining his composure. Although the opponent's strength was overwhelming, as Surge had said, he had full confidence in both himself and his Pokémon.
So one day, I'll be this strong too? Maybe even stronger!
A fiery determination began to blaze in Silas' eyes.
That's more like it Surge was satisfied as he patted the young man's shoulder again. A Trainer must always pursue greater strength without pause even now, he himself still did.
"Keep it up! I'll be off for now."
Surge had only stopped by to check on this younger Trainer. There was still plenty of follow-up work to handle. After a few parting words, he climbed back onto the Magnezone with Raichu.
Magnezone slowly rose into the sky and quickly disappeared from view.
With the identity checks complete and no issues found among the present Trainers, everyone left one after another. Silas also returned to the Pokémon Center.
In a residential house in Vermilion City—
Before a dimly glowing computer screen, a figure was making a report.
"Boss, Dr.Shinora electromagnetic experint has been executed. The League's response was significant."
"Mhm." A man seated with his back to the screen gave a deep reply as he stroked a creamy-white feline Pokémon at his side.
After a mont of silence
"Have Shinora relocate to the base in Cinnabar Town and continue his research there. Now isn't the right ti to go head-to-head with the League."
The man asked lazily, "And what about the task I assigned to you?"
"Apologies, Boss. After I approached them, they angrily rejected the offer." The man in black, whose clothing bore a red 'R' insignia, lowered his head nervously.
"Heh, no matter. It was just about planting a seed anyway. Besides..."
"Next, I want you to head to Goldenrod City. First, go to…"
The man in black listened respectfully to the instructions given by the man on the screen.
In the backyard of the Vermillion Gym.
Maple Night's grandfather the previous Gym Leader of Vermillion Gym and the ntor of Surge—Maple Dusk, was quietly sipping tea while listening to Surge explain what had happened.
"Team Rocket, is it?" Maple Dusk murmured to himself.
"Hmph, those little pests dare to approach ? They're nothing but clowns hiding in the shadows," Surge said with lingering anger.
At this point in ti, Team Rocket was far from the powerful organization that Silas would one day imagine it to be. Most people still considered it to be nothing more than an ordinary underground group.
"Make preparations," Maple Dusk said calmly.
"Hm?" Surge looked at his ntor in confusion.
"The League will respond to this. Just be ready," Maple Dusk sipped his tea, narrowed his eyes, and relaxed into his lounge chair.
"Yes, sir." Surge nodded slightly. After all, his ntor had always seen more than he did.
"You… you really should use your head more often. Don't spend every waking mont obsessed with getting stronger."
Indigo Plateau — Headquarters of the Kanto Pokémon League.
"I told you, when that female boss handed over control, we should have crushed Team Rocket completely."
"Heh, easy for you to say. Funny, I recall you saying sothing very different back then."
"All right, enough. What's done is done. It's not like Team Rocket's existence is entirely without benefit to the League."
"Benefits aside, after this incident, we need to give them a warning."
"Yes, a warning is definitely necessary."
"They've contacted Surge from the Vermillion Gym. What's your take on that?"
"Probably trying to recruit him. Judging by his record, he's soone who relentlessly pursues power."
"Can he be trusted? Maybe we should…"
anwhile, Silas was lying in bed, trying to rest.
This sudden disturbance had left him feeling more exhausted than he expected.
