After giving Scyther a light spray of potion to treat its injuries, Silas instructed Combusken to keep an eye on it.

He then had Pidgeot and Roggenrola maintain their vigilance on the periter while he began preparing lunch.

There wasn't much else he could do he wasn't a humanoid Chansey. In the wild, a quick spray of dicine was already considered decent treatnt.

Most wild Pokémon that lose the ability to battle in the wild end up dying. Compared to that, his approach could be considered rciful.

This was also why he'd always wanted a Pokémon capable of learning a full-party healing move like Heal Pulse or Grassy Terrain. Honestly, as long as the Pokémon had decent potential, he wasn't even aiming for Elite Four level strength.

To survive long-term in the wild, sustainability was essential. If the team couldn't stay in fighting condition for long, then the efficiency dropped significantly. More importantly, it posed serious threats to their safety.

Right now, Silas had to return to town every half day to restore the condition of his three main Pokémon, which seriously hampered his progress.

Unfortunately, full-party healing moves were extrely rare, difficult to master, and could only be learned by a small group of Pokémon to begin with. Finding one with good enough potential to make it worthwhile? That was a tall order stacked with even more difficulty.

Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense that after so long, the Joy family had practically monopolized the entire healing-related market.

Rumor had it the Joy family possessed secret techniques that allowed Pokémon like Chansey to quickly learn moves like Heal Pulse, Life Dew, and Healing Wish but no one had ever confird this.

While making lunch, Silas was still thinking about the "healer" role his team desperately needed.

Co to think of it, it was strange Life Dew, a Water-type healing move, was mostly learned by Psychic-types or Pokémon like Audino and Chansey, who were more support-oriented.

Only a few Water-types could learn Life Dew naly, Corsola (standard form), Milotic, and Lapras.

Unfortunately, Silas didn't have any realistic chance of obtaining any of the three.

Corsola? Definitely out. Aside from maybe learning Life Dew, it had far too many flaws. A Corsola that knew Life Dew was basically sothing out of a dream.

As for Milotic, while Silas did know that Feebas could evolve through "Beauty" or with a Prism Scale, he wasn't too sure how the forr worked.

And the Prism Scale? Those were basically monopolized by Sootopolis Gym, who publicly stated they were buying them in bulk.

Many people wondered why the Sootopolis Gym was so obsessed with acquiring such a rare but seemingly useless and pretty item.

A few even hoarded them in secret, convinced they had special properties and conducting mad research.

Silas knew the truth but there was no way he'd reveal it. Not only would no one believe him, but it would also attract serious trouble.

He couldn't just snatch one by force either. And since Feebas, like Magikarp, had an extrely low chance of producing high-potential offspring, he had to pass on that option as well.

Lapras was fantastic in every way wide move pool, great potential, solid strength. On top of that, thanks to its gentle temperant, it was considered the number one choice for ocean travel among trainers, according to the forums.

Sadly, due to overhunting, Lapras had beco critically endangered. The League now strictly prohibited its breeding and was pushing for conservation efforts.

Word was, the Alola region was particularly strict with protections and harsh with punishnts. Who knew what the final outco would be?

Silas sighed. In the end, Grass-types were still the best choice for healing support—this was exactly why he chose to go with a Leaf Stone.

In Kanto and nearby regions, Pokémon like Bulbasaur's line, Oddish's line, Exeggcute's line, Treecko's line, Seedot's line—even Tangrowth, Paras, Hoppip, Turtwig, and Snivy—all had the potential to learn Grassy Terrain.

Compared to other full-party healing moves, which only a handful of species could learn, Grassy Terrain had a practically overwhelming number of candidates.

After feeding Pidgeot and Roggenrola, Silas brought lunch to Combusken and carried a spare Pokémon bowl containing several Poké Puffs and energy cubes over to Scyther.

"If you're awake, you should eat sothing."

"Shaa-te-lei~"

Scyther slowly opened its eyes, sensing that the human before it had no strong hostility.

Combusken naturally took the food bowl from Silas and offered one of the Poké Puffs to Scyther.

It wasn't a fool—while it was still young and lacked combat experience, it could at least tell if a Pokémon had regained consciousness.

Its trainer had obviously noticed too but hadn't taken any action since the Scyther was lying still. No need to strike unless necessary.

Combusken genuinely admired this older warrior.

While it might be stronger in raw power, Scyther had mastered techniques and subtle skills far beyond its own.

"Shaaa~"

Scyther hesitated, then accepted the food from Combusken.

It wasn't that the scent of the food was especially alluring it had lived long enough to taste just about every kind of berry and food there was.

What made it eat was the situation. With Pidgeot and Roggenrola eyeing it closely and Combusken half-focused on it, Scyther knew escape was impossible.

Might as well see what this human was up to no harm in having a al first.

It placed the bowl on the ground, picked up an energy cube with one of its scythes, and brought it to its mouth. Its eyes narrowed.

A familiar flavor.

Back when it led its swarm and defeated a trainer, they'd looted this kind of food as part of their spoils. Scyther had savored it for days.

But trainers who carried food like this were rare. Even after several hunts, it hadn't co across it again.

Holding his own lunch and keeping a safe distance, Silas began eating while raising his voice to ask Scyther:

"Scyther, are you interested in teaching my Combusken so battle techniques?"

With Pokémon, it was best to be direct no point in sugar-coating things. That was one of the reasons he liked them.

"Shaa-te-lei~?"

Combusken? Which one is that? Scyther tilted its head in confusion.

"Kyaa!"

Combusken, mid-bite, raised its head and responded, "That's ."

Scyther nodded in understanding. So this guy was nad Combusken. Also, what's a "chicken"? The na left it very confused.

Its tiny brain puzzled over it, but that didn't stop it from eating.

"You agreed? That's great!"

Silas was genuinely surprised at how quickly and readily Scyther seed to accept his request. He hadn't even had to push or persuade much.

"In that case, I'll co here every other day around noon when the sun is above the treetops. You can train Combusken then. I'll provide food for both that al and dinner."

Scyther blinked and was about to protest.

What do you an, I agreed? When did I say yes? Don't just decide things for ! Just because you have three…

But then it heard Silas ntion food again and imdiately changed its stance.
