After parting ways with Lance, my new destination before leaving Kanto altogether was the Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden.
Luckily, I already knew the rough area it was in.
I let Exeggutor back out of his pokeball, and had him teleport halfway across Kanto. Specifically, to the forest where I caught him, his overly large friend group of other Exeggutor, and where I mined all my leaf stones.
From there, I opted for speed, and mounted Pidgeot. Soaring through the skies towards Grandpa Canyon, and beyond.
'I should have just done this before.' I mused, high in the air and holding Togepi in my arms, allowing the little guy to take in the sights.
Today, would be his first official battle. While he'd taken part in spars so far with my other pokemon, right from the second day after he'd hatched, he'd yet to fight an official one.
But yes, putting that aside, if I hadn't been dead set on capturing that giant bulbasaur and had a little more common sense, I could have swung this way right after catching Aerodactyl, Kabutops and the other fossil pokemon.
'Oh well.' I sighed, putting it out of mind. No point griping over it. I was in a slightly different place ntally then, before my talk with Surge that put a few things in perspective.
All in all, it didn't actually take very long to find the vast forest. It actually stood out quite a bit if you knew what you were looking for.
I directed Pidgeot over the forest, speeding across the vast land it covered, taking in the huge dense foliage of trees that left little space to traverse, and anywhere not covered by trees, had what appeared to be gargantuan roots blocking the way in.
'Now that I think about it, back then it never made sense how the Venusaur did that.' I mused. It was never explained either. But, nowadays I had a good idea what those massive roots were.
It could only be Frenzy Plant.
Interesting.
For it to have learned how to do that alone, was quite impressive indeed. It must have been way stronger than I thought it was.
Odd though that Ash's Bulbasaur at the ti was easily tanking hits from it and smacking back.
…Maybe it went easy on Bulbasaur?
I shrugged, 'Doesn't matter now I suppose.' I dismissed it, directed Pidgeot deeper and deeper into the forest.
Before finally we ca upon an enormous clearing covered in grass land and a wide range of beautiful flowers.
And right smack dab in the middle, was a towering hollowed out tree.
I directed Pidgeot to land down a few dozen feet away from the large hollowed out tree. The residence of the Venusaur that ruled this land.
Once we landed, I hopped down off of Pidgeot's back, carrying Togepi in my arms, and returned the towering try hard bird back to his ever so comfortable and expensive luxury ball.
"Alright little guy," I held the tiny little baby pokemon up and smiled at him, "You ready for this?"
"Toge toge…" Togepi giggled and bead back, before-
"Togepri!" his little voice deepened, and a vicious thuggish almost evil looking expression appeared on his tiny egg like face. Eyes narrowed into a vicious glare, tiny mouth in a fiendish smirk, his gaze dark and terrible indeed.
And ever so cute.
He even licked his lips in desire for violence!
Just as I taught him.
"That's a lad!" I laughed ruffling his spiky head, and setting him down at my feet. He might have only been a week old, but he had fast learned the basics I'd installed in all my pokemon.
And now in spirit of that-
"Alright Togepi, before we start use Nasty Plot." I ordered.
Togepi grinned up at , and nodded, "Toge!" he replied, spreading his stubby little arms wide, and a mont later he was enveloped in a crackling red and black aura.
Now he was ready.
"Venusaur, co on out!" I shouted, "I know you're there, and I know you already know we're here as well."
For a mont, there was silence in response to my challenge.
But then-
"ZAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRR!" a ground shaking roar erupted and echoed forth from the the large hollowed out tree, and the ground actually began to shake in real, as huge, heavy foot steps echoed.
And a second later, the gigantic form of a Venusaur stepped forth from tree and glared at .
I whistled, 'Damn, this thing is way bigger than I thought.' I mused absently. It made the Venusaur that appeared in the later series of the ani, seem puny in comparison.
It had to be well over ten feet in height, and length wise, I could only estimate from this distance to be at least three of in height, probably around twenty feet long?
With a head like the front of a car, and thick powerful muscular legs that were wider than I was.
This thing was a beast!
…Well I wanted a giant bulbasaur, but a giant Venusaur is even better. How did I forget this guy was so fucking massive?
"Let's do this!" I pointed my gauntlet clad fist at the giant grass and poison type, "Togepi, Flathrower!"
"Toge!" Togepi chirped, before opening his tiny little mouth.
And spitting out a large gout of fla towards the Venusaur. Who in reply, opened its massive maw wide open.
"ZAUR!" it roared, and-
My eyes widened as it spat out a literal fucking massive vertical hurricane of gale force winds towards us.
It was so powerful it tore a massive trench in the grassy ground as it tore towards us, slamming into Togepi's flathrower and scattering it like flimsy embers.
I rolled to one side avoiding it, while Togepi jumped to the other side. I rolled to my feet, just in ti to see it tear through our position and leave a ten foot deep trench.
