I think I'll address sothing here. I keep getting a lot of complaints about this story. Well, there's always whiny complainers over every story, especially because my mc's aren't the ching chong slop edgy losers that hide every little facet of their personalities and abilities and have less personality than Plank from Ed Edd n' Eddy.
Specifically though, I want to address the complaints over Ash Ketchum in this story, and how well he's doing.
First, I'll go over, ugh, the scaling of pokemon series. As a rule, I hate doing this shit, cuz power scaling is such virgin behaviour, and I know a bunch of Red fanboys are going to seethe and cry because their precious silent, red-eyed dot dot dot self insert won't be made out as powerful as they want. And there are a lot of you consistently wanking off Red in the comnts of this story. Seriously, wash Red's cum from your hands before you type these comnts please.
Anyway, there's a hierarchy among the pokemon series strength wise. Of the main series, Power wise, the most powerful pokemon series, is the main ani, followed by the Pokemon Adventure/Specials manga, Then Pokemon Electric Tales of Pikachu, then Pokemon Horizons, then Pokemon Origins and the Gas are about on equal level give or take.
To be frank, Ash and Red from the Adventures manga, by ti they get their 8th badges respectively, could solo all of Horizons, Origins and and the gas without much issue at all. That's how big of a gulf there are, and at those points Ash and Manga Red are far from their peaks.
Now putting that side, let's focus on the pokemon leagues of the ani. In the Adventures Manga, the league isn't even properly made until much later in the series, there isn't even an a proper League Elite Four and Champion when Red gets his badges and it's just an open tournant anyone can compete in. It isn't until post Hoenn if I rember right, proper leagues are established, and it's just the sa as the ga ones.
Now the ani. It's very different. Putting aside the eight badges, The pokemon leagues are yearly things in each region, at different tis for each. Where the best of the best turn up. Anyone of these guys could Solo Origins, Horizons or the gas. And to beco a champion in the ani, you need to go through a tournant full of these guys. Only when you win this, do you get the chance to take on the Elite Four and then possibly the Champion.
Easier said than done however. The Elite Four, are on a completely different level from normal trainers. Let's just use Flint as an example from Sinnoh. When Ash fought him, it beat Pikachu, Infernape and Buizel without issue. It flat out took Pikachu's Volt Tackle to the chest, and didn't even flinch or move back. This sa Pikachu beat Regice rember, commanded by Brandon at that.
If an 8th Gym Leader was say, Saiyan Saga Vegeta level, an Elite Four mber would be more akin to first form Frieza from the Saiyan Saga. The gulf is truly that massive. Well, before Sun and Moon Journeys nerfed the fuck out of them. And a champions ace like Cynthia, could outright while immobilzed, face tank the Frenzy Plant of a Torterra at very least, on the 8th gym leader tier of power.
Now, why is this important. Frankly, despite his sheer idiocy at tis, and the writer leaks outright admitting they refused to let Ash win and gave him anti-plot armour. Ash was without a doubt, a prodigy.
It's established very early in the ani, that most trainers can ever hope to win a few badges, never mind to make it to the leagues consistently. Just liken Pokemon Battling, to sports of our world, like Football, Basketball etc. Your run of the mill joe ain't gonna go far there. And it ain't like the leagues only have people from one region, no, these people co from all over the world for each league. The best of the best from the entire world turn up at these leagues. And Ash consistently, from his very league, scored incredibly high. Just his first three were top 16, top 8 and top 8 again. And everyone knows, if Ash used his older pokemon in the Hoenn League, he would have won. So at that point, in canon, where he would have been 13 at most, he was already good enough to win a league.
But putting aside main Ash's abilities for a mont. I want to focus more, on the fact that early on, Ash was very catch crazy. He wanted to catch every pokemon he saw. He just, didn't get the chance because of literally, Team Rocket, Misty and Brock always getting in his way. Oh and Samurai that one ti.
Seriously, Brock and Misty were horrible fucking friends early on in the series.
Anyway why is this important? Because this was never just a pokemon ani story. It's a fusion of the Pokemon Ani, Electric Tale of Pikachu, and Pokemon I Choose You ani AU-verse. Why is this important? Because the characters are a fusion as well. So Brock and Misty are a lot more mature here.
And this goes double for Ash, if I said main Ani Ash was was a prodigy, then I Choose You Ash is like, a super prodigy or sothing. That Ash caught only a few pokemon first starting out - Pikachu, Butterfree and Charizard. By ti he had four badges, he had a fully evolved Charizard. Not only that, but Pikachu went on to 1v1 Marshadow, then right after, fought Ho-oh. And it's implied at the end, that Pikachu actually won that fight. Even if he didn't though. Four badges in, and this Ash is already capable of raising pokemon to fight high-tier legends like Ho-oh.
So the Ash of this story, is a fusion of his ani self that is much more catch happy with nobody to get in his way this ti, the prodigal ability of I Choose You Ash, and the maturity of Electric Tales of Pikachu Ash. And a reminder that, Electric Tales of Pikachu Ash, was literally banging Misty and sent a letter telling his mother all about it, even how he and Misty were banging in a bath. And that's just after the Orange League, when he's about 12. In Electric Tales, he travelled the Orange Islands with Misty, Gary and Ritchie. And even caught an enormous alpha slowpoke, to trade to Gary for a picture of his sister and advice on her. Yes, not only was he banging Misty, Electric Tales Ash wanted to bang Gary's sister as well.
God this drew on way longer than I intended. But yes, that's why the Ash of this story, is doing so well.
Now I'm sure so of you will be thinking. But wait Big Papa Ding Dong Jord, how co Jord could hurt Lance's pokemon then and take two down if Champions are such a big deal. Well, putting aside Poke-Jords pokemon are generally a lot bigger, stronger and more durable than they usually would be at their level because of the intense gravity training they do. Lance and his pokemon were taking it easy on him. Because it was being televised, Lance didn't want to absolutely demolish an up and coming rookie with such promise. And he wanted to see just what all Poke-Jords pokemon were capable of, and if there was anything he could take from it.. If he went full force, none of Poke-Jords pokemon would have gotten much of any hits in, if any.
Keep in mind, Lance and the other champions, really are like Shonen Mc's of their own story, that already completed their main story.
You'll understand in a few chapters I guess.

"Ancient Power!" I shouted to Togepi.
Togepi wasted no ti, thrusting his little hands towards the huge grass type, dozens of thick rocky boulder materialising in the air around him before shooting towards the huge dual type like a rain of bullets.
The Venusaur scoffed, and from its massive flowery back, tens of dozens of massive vines erupted out and swept through the Ancient Power, pulverizing it into dust.
It cast its gaze at , before scoffing and slamming those vines into the ground, and throwing itself into the air towards , where it rolled mid-air, picking up speed and ca down like a falling teor with Body Slam.
This thing did not play around.
"Bad choice, big guy!" I smirked, instead of dodging I thrust my arm up, "Thunder Wave!"
Since it involved in the battle, it could not complain about hitting back right?
I saw it's eyes widen above , as a blindingly fast blue bolt erupted from my Rotom Gauntlet and pierced into it.
It roared as its body spasd and beca paralyzed, leaving it open.
It abruptly stopped mid-air, and my smirk only widened as I look towards Togepi, his little eyes glowing a bright blue with psychic power.
"Togepri!" Togepi cried out, yanking his tiny arms down and the Venusaur caught within his Psychic attack?
Was smashed face first into the ground from dozens of feet in the air, so hard a crater was ford.
"Confuse Ray!" I snapped quickly, opening my palm wide open. Rotom, obeyed instantly, a flare of black energy erupting from my palm and washing over the Venusaur, making it groan.
It shook its head, growling at the wall of the crater it was in, before smashing its face into it with a devastating Headbutt attack.
Probably thinking it was either or Togepi.
"Now Togepi, Yawn!" I ordered quickly as I rushed over towards the crater and jumped in, slamming an axe kick into Venusaur's huge head.
It barely did anything beyond make it groan in annoyance, but it forced its head deeper into the wall, and kept it even busier in case it possibly snapped out of the confusion quickly.
A mont later, Togepi followed in, landing atop the flower on Venusaur's back, and yawned.
A bright pink bubble spawned from his mouth, and popped against the Venusaur's back.
"..Saur….?" it teetered on its legs, before yawning itself and slumping to the ground asleep.
"Way to go little guy!" I thrust my hand out up towards the flower, and Togepi happily giggled, eting for a high five, before hopping on my shoulder.
"Ti to finish this," I smirked, holding my gauntlet clad hand out again, "Rotom, let's hit it with Shadow Ball, full power. And Togepi? You get it with Dream Eater."
"Affirmative!" Rotom replied, screen on the back of my fist flashing, while Togepi chirped in agreent.
"Togepri!" his eyes flashed with dark power as he thrust his little stubby arms out once more, and a translucent copy of himself erupted from his body, and speared straight inside the Venusaur's body.
It groaned in pain, body spasming as the super effective attack enhanced by Nasty Plot devoured it from the inside out.
And following that, a pitch black crackling orb of black power ford from my palm, and was unleashed, slamming into the back of the Venusaur's head and exploding.
The Venusaur groaned again. But to my surprise, it was still quite lively.
So we repeated it. Another volley of Shadow Ball from Rotom, and enhanced Dream Eater from Togepi.
Still it did not fall fully.
Only on the third volley, did the sleeping form of the Venusaur we stood atop, truly go limp.
"What a tough big bastard," I laughed, before turning to Togepi and holding my arms out, "There's a lad, you did amazing!"
"Togepri!" Togepi happily chirped as he jumped into my arms and nuzzled .
"You little juggernaut you!" I gushed, nuzzling him back.
Celebration aside, I cradled Togepi in the crook of my left arm, before opening my other hand up, "Rotom, luxury ball ."
A mont later, the shrunken form of a gleaming back luxury ball appeared in my palm. I pressed the golden middle of it, enlarging the ball, before kneeling down and tapping it to the back of the huge Venusaur's head.
It cracked open, and a second later, the huge dual grass and poison type, beca red energy as it was sucked inside. The ball in my hand, snapping closed as it began to shake in my palm.
I dropped a few feet to the ground, in the middle of the crater as it took. Once, twice, thrice it shook in my palm, before slowing to a stop.
And with a ping, the red light died away as Venusaur was successfully captured.
"Capture complete." I grinned, looking at the ball for a second, "Rotom, what are we working with here? What was the first attack it used against us, it couldn't have been Hurricane, right?"
"Oddly you are incorrect, sohow this Venusaur does indeed know the attack Hurricane. How…peculiar, I was not aware this pokemon line was capable of learning such an attack," Rotom humd, before regurgitating the data of the pokemon I just caught, "Venusaur. Gender: Male. Ability: Chlorophyll. Height: 12'06. Weight: 848 pounds. Attacks Known: Vine Whip, Body Slam, Razor Leaf, Hurricane, Frenzy Plant, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, Leech Seed, Synthesis, Headbutt, Sludge Bomb, Weather Ball, Grassy Terrain, Earth Power, Ancient Power. Data indicates a fondness and preference for long range combat, but battle data during the encounter and confrontation with this Venusaur, indicates, it has no problem engaging in close combat either using its vast bulk to its advantage against smaller foes."
…Huh.
'Well I suppose Ash's Bulbasaur did learn Whirlwind and Dig sohow.' I mused. Still, that was a massive amount of attacks it knew. This thing, was really powerful.
If it focused fully on Togepi instead of trying to jump as well, it most likely would have soundly defeated the little guy. But, when it attacked , it wasn't expecting to be able to fire back, and that left it open to Togepi. And once it was asleep and confused, it was ga over no matter the vast difference in strength.
Still, I couldn't help but grin, "Charizard, Blastoise and now Venusaur, I have them all." I laughed giddily.
All three fully evolved Kanto starters. Truly a milestone if there ever was one.
