The razor-sharp slash rapidly enlarged in Luffy's vision. Just as it was about to cut him in half, a towering figure suddenly rushed out and stood in front of him.
While everyone watching wondered what this person intended to do, he took a defensive stance. In the next instant, an astonishing scene unfolded—his body began to transform into dazzling diamond, gleaming brilliantly under the sunlight.
The mont his transformation was complete, the slash struck him head-on. The imnse force pushed him backward continuously, nearly crashing into the massive ship behind him.
With a furious roar, the man exerted all his strength and deflected the slash upward. The redirected attack split the sky itself in two before finally dissipating into the distance.
"Ace! I'm here to save you! Wait for !" Luffy didn't even have ti to thank the man who had saved him. He imdiately rushed forward toward the execution platform.
"Executioners! The ti has co—carry out the beheading imdiately!" Seeing the chaotic situation unfolding, Sengoku shouted urgently. He feared any delay would lead to unforeseen complications.
Hearing the order, the two executioners didn't dare hesitate. They raised their sharp blades, aiming directly at Ace's neck. The gleaming steel reflected a blinding light under the sun.
"No, stop!"
"Ace! Stop them!"
"Don't let it end like this!"
The rescuers below had been watching the platform closely. The mont Sengoku gave the order, panic spread among them. They charged toward the platform, shouting desperately.
"Stop!"
Luffy, seeing the blades about to fall, was filled with desperation. He roared at the top of his lungs.
In the next mont, an invisible wave of energy erupted from his body, spreading outward in all directions. A crushing pressure descended upon everyone present. Those with weaker strength couldn't endure it—their eyes rolled back as they collapsed unconscious, including the two executioners on the platform.
Sengoku frowned deeply. He could no longer remain seated. If the execution failed, the Navy's authority would be shattered. To preserve its image, even at a great cost, Ace had to be executed.
With that thought, Sengoku stood up, killing intent surging as he began walking toward Ace.
Seeing Sengoku move personally, a figure suddenly shot across the sky—a blue bird moving at incredible speed, aiming straight for Ace as if to rescue him before Sengoku could act.
Just as the bird was about to reach Ace—
A figure flashed from the platform, moving so fast it appeared as a blur.
It was Garp.
Tears stread down his face, yet he roared as he raised his fist, pouring all his pain into a single strike. His punch slamd directly into Marco, who had transford into a phoenix.
Boom!
The deafening impact echoed across the battlefield. Marco was struck head-on and sent flying at an even greater speed, crashing violently into a distant building.
In the next instant, Garp reappeared on the platform as if he had teleported, sitting down heavily in the seat once occupied by the Admirals.
Sengoku narrowed his eyes at Garp's actions but said nothing, continuing his advance toward Ace.
Seeing this, Luffy quickened his pace. Though he had never witnessed Sengoku's full strength, he knew it was far beyond anything he had faced before.
"Scissor Hands!"
At that mont, a man suddenly appeared ahead of Luffy. His hands transford into giant scissors, slicing into the ground. Instantly, the earth parted like paper, forming a straight bridge leading directly to the execution platform.
Under normal circumstances, Luffy would have been amazed, eagerly studying such an ability. But now, his mind held only one thought—saving Ace. He simply shouted a quick thanks before sprinting across the newly ford path.
"Garp… you really raised a troubleso grandson."
As Luffy raced forward, getting closer and closer to Ace, Sengoku finally spoke, unable to suppress his emotions any longer.
Garp understood what that ant.
Looking at Luffy approaching, he hesitated. Though his heart was filled with reluctance, he had not forgotten his duty. Gritting his teeth, he leapt forward, blocking Luffy's path.
"Grandpa! Move! Don't stand in my way—I have to save Ace!"
Seeing Garp standing just a few ters ahead, Luffy felt torn. If it were anyone else—even Sengoku—he would attack without hesitation. But this was his grandfather. The man who had raised him. The man who had beaten him countless tis in the past.
Left with no other choice, Luffy could only shout, hoping Garp would step aside.
"Luffy, don't be foolish! If you want to save Ace, then defeat first! Otherwise, Ace will die here today—no one is taking him away!"
Garp's voice was stern, but his heart was in turmoil. He forced himself to suppress his tears as he shouted.
Hearing this, Luffy knew words were useless. His expression hardened, and he clenched his fists, gathering all his strength.
He bit down hard and threw a punch. The force of it caused the air around him to howl.
Watching his own grandson attack him, Garp's emotions churned. But he also understood—Luffy had made his choice.
With that realization, Garp no longer hesitated. He stomped forward, launching himself like a cannonball toward Luffy, his massive fist swinging forward.
To outsiders, it looked like Garp was carrying out justice without hesitation.
