Only Sam remained calm, as if everything had unfolded exactly as expected.
He wasn't surprised in the slightest.
Yas's Scyther had likely been forced into the Gym level through external ans. Its real combat strength was barely comparable to a standard Gym-level Pokémon.
Charizard, on the other hand, had undergone a trendous transformation after evolving. Its strength had already reached the mid-Gym level.
In terms of power, it crushed Scyther.
In terms of type advantage, it completely suppressed it.

Inside, the place was already empty. Word had spread quickly — anyone with sense had fled long ago.
Sam walked into the conference hall and picked up the phone.
He dialed Professor Oak.
After briefly explaining Dark City's situation, silence filled the line.
Professor Oak sounded exhausted.
"I didn't expect the officials here to be this bold…" he said quietly.
Then his tone hardened.
"Sam, stay in Dark City. I'm sending soone imdiately."
"Don't worry. Everyone involved will receive the punishnt they deserve."
Sam smiled slightly.
That was reassuring.
In the ani, Kaz Gym and Yas Gym had been punished lightly — rely helping rebuild the city after destroying it.

A Trainer with flaming red hair sat atop a Dragonite, hovering in the sky.
Below, a Charizard and an Aerodactyl were chasing down Kaz Gym apprentices.
The scene was intense.
Buildings were shattered.
Dust filled the air.
Yet despite the overwhelming force, none of the apprentices were killed. They were beaten, subdued — but spared.
Dragonite.
Charizard.
Aerodactyl.
Flaming red hair.
It was impossible not to recognize him.
"Elite Four Lance… why are you here?"
Lance had already noticed Sam the mont he arrived.
He guided Dragonite closer.
"Sam," Lance said calmly, "you did well. Thanks to your report, the Alliance uncovered the corruption in Dark City."
His expression was cold.
He had not expected officials under the Alliance's jurisdiction to be so rotten — allowing two private gyms to wage war, destroying the city while reporting nothing.
It enraged him.
That was why he had personally co.
He would purge the darkness himself.
Below them, Kaz Gym was nearly flattened. Every apprentice had been beaten into submission.
Sam took a slow breath.
His own thod had been restrained.
Lance's thod—
Was thunderous.
Lance noticed Sam's gaze.
"Sotis," Lance said evenly, "to uphold justice, thunder must fall."
"Only overwhelming force can make those who hide in darkness fear the light."
His Dragonite let out a low roar.
The sky above Dark City felt different now.
