There was a limit to how much Dragon Dance could boost power. After strengthening twice in a row, Charizard Y had already reached its peak.
Its orange scales had turned a deeper red. Sam could feel the heat radiating from its body rising rapidly. Each breath it took released scorching flas, and its chest heaved from the strain.

With Bangila holding back Zapdos's attacks, it was finally Charizard Y's mont.

The opening had appeared.

The sandstorm swirling through the sky began to gather. Countless grains of sand condensed into curved blades, forming deadly scimitars that slashed toward Zapdos from every direction.
But Zapdos panicked.

Sam gently patted Charizard Y beneath him—both to encourage it, and to steady himself.
But suddenly—
His heart sank.
Lightning had already surrounded them.
The trap had closed.
At this point, Sam could only trust Bangila. If Bangila couldn't land a decisive blow now… everything would be over.
Zapdos's enraged roar echoed through the sky. The surrounding lightning began to compress inward, shrinking the space around Sam and Charizard Y.
Closer.
Closer.
The crackling sound of electricity filled his ears.
The pressure beca unbearable.
Sam's body trembled slightly from the stray currents.
He couldn't wait any longer.
"Charizard Y—Overheat!!!"
He made the call instantly.
Charizard Y opened its jaws wide. The massive amount of pent-up energy finally found an outlet and erupted all at once.
A torrent of blazing fire exploded outward—

An escape path appeared.
With the last of its strength, Charizard Y burst through the opening.
They escaped.
Sam inhaled deeply, the cool air rushing into his lungs. Only then did he truly feel alive.
Behind him, Zapdos stared at the torn lightning field, its expression turning even darker.
Being toyed with again and again by what it saw as re "ants"—
—it had completely lost control.
With a furious cry, Zapdos spread its massive wings and charged straight toward them.
But Sam smiled.
This was exactly what he had been waiting for.
"Bangila—grab it!!!"
