Although William couldn't read Jake's mind, he understood the look in his eyes and felt a surge of frustration in his heart.
As a Champion who had risen from a civilian background, William was the idol of countless civilian Trainers, many of whom dreamed of following in his footsteps and being the second Champion to e from an ordinary family.
But what they didn't know was that far too many parts of William's journey could never be replicated.
He would never tell you that, back when he had just started out, he once witnessed two pseudo-Elite trainers in a secret realm fighting desperately over a Pokémon egg, only for both to end up dead. Instead, he became the final victor.
And that Pokémon Egg possessed Cyan-grade Potential—the potential to reach the Elite tier.
Holding a Pokémon egg with Elite-level potential, William made a decision very different from what most would have done—he chose not to keep the egg, but to sell it.
Because he knew all too well that he simply couldn't protect it, and keeping it would only bring about his own death sooner or later.
By selling the egg, William acquired a great deal of wealth, pleting the initial accumulation of his starting capital.
He also wouldn't tell you that during his rise, he was noticed and invested in by James and John's father.
bined with the opportunities he encountered on his own, these were what allowed him to bee a Champion and the idol of countless civilian trainers.
And he knew very well that so much of what he had experienced simply couldn't be replicated. So the likelihood of a civilian being a Champion through his path was practically impossible to occur.
As a civilian Champion, his family was small, so in order to expand the family line, William and his wife devoted themselves to having children.
With their growing population, the family had indeed prospered.
Unfortunately, among his sons' generation, the strongest had only reached the peak of the Elite tier, and among his grandchildren, not a single one had truly impressed him.
He had so many sons and grandsons—so how was it that they still couldn't pare to the Walker family's single heir?
As for the fact that he had once received support from the Walker family, very few people knew about it.
Even Julian himself had no idea.
But several years ago, during Julian's trip to Victoria when he ended up fighting Groudon, in order to allow Julian to retreat unscathed, James, as Grand Elder, had William go to the Sky Altar to summon Rayquaza.
It must be understood that, aside from Julian, any other Champion who summoned a First-class Legendary was basically doomed to die.
Moreover, William's family had only been established for a few decades. Aside from himself, the strongest within the family was merely at the Elite level—far from enough to safeguard the family.
So if he were to die, although the family he built wouldn't collapse entirely, it would still crumble for the most part.
Yet, faced with James's mand, William had agreed without the slightest hesitation.
Apart from the sense of duty befitting a Champion, it was also, naturally, out of a desire to repay the Walker family's kindness.

Meanwhile, even the Master, who had absolute confidence in Hoopa, was stunned and uncertain after seeing Julian summon a full seven First-class Legendaries.
She couldn't help but glance at Hoopa, only to find him laughing heartily.
"Do you really think having more helpers means you can defeat me?"
"But when it es to helpers, I'm not lacking in them either."
"Today, I'll let you witness my true power. I'll show you what real despair looks like."
As it spoke, the golden rings on Hoopa's six arms flew into the sky.
The rings suddenly expanded, and powerful surges of energy began pouring out from within them.
People across the world thought Hoopa was about to launch an attack, but when they saw a massive crimson beast step out from the first golden ring, their expressions immediately changed.
"ROAR!!"
The God of Land, Groudon, emerged from the golden ring and let out a thunderous roar toward Kyogre.
As for Rayquaza—'Hmm, you can't see me, you can't see me.'
Immediately after, from the second ring emerged Dialga.
From the third came Palkia.
From the fourth Giratina.
From the fifth Ho-Oh.
And from the sixth ring came Zygarde.
A total of six First-class Legendaries appeared before Hoopa.
Even the famous Creation Trio had arrived.
Aside from Groudon, whose strength was in the mid-to-late First-class Legendary tier, the Creation Trio and Zygarde were all in the late-stage.
[T/N: Probably just incarnations, as the real ones hardly make an appearance.]
Ho-Oh, meanwhile, was at the peak of the First-class Legendary tier.
Now, the entire world once again fell silent.
Just minutes earlier, after Julian had summoned seven First-class Legendaries, everyone had believed this battle—the battle that would decide the fate of the world—was all but won.
Yet before they even had the time to celebrate, Hoopa had also summoned six First-class Legendaries. And including Hoopa itself... it was now seven against seven.
"ROAR!!"
And it still wasn't over.
Acpanied by a piercing cry, the God of Death, Yveltal, appeared, its icy gaze fixed upon Julian below.
Hoopa had previously released its aura that annihilated all life within a vast radius. And every soul from that massacre had been absorbed by Yveltal.
As a result, not only had the injuries Julian inflicted on it in the past pletely healed, but its strength had even increased by an entire level.
Now it was eight against seven.
Julian's side was outnumbered by one First-class Legendary.
"Your opponent is me."
Xerneas appeared from seemingly nowhere and fixed its gaze on Yveltal in the sky.
Eight against eight—evenly matched.
---
> "I can't anymore—my heart can't handle this!"
> "Hoopa's golden rings can actually summon First-class Legendaries? Is that its ability?!"
> "Things looked so favorable just a moment ago, and now the advantage has pletely disappeared."
> "So many First-class Legendaries that haven't appeared in centuries have all shown up at once."
> "There are sixteen First-class Legendaries gathered here! That's basically every one humanity has ever discovered—or hasn't discovered!"
> "Aaaah! Why are all these First-class Legendaries standing on Hoopa's side? Don't they know it's the villain?"
> "It should be Hoopa's ability. Just look at Groudon actually standing against Rayquaza—that's obviously not normal."
---
Although that ment was made jokingly, it was indeed the truth.
With its strength having reached the Forbidden-class, Hoopa's golden rings could summon any First-class Legendary whose power was inferior to its own.
Moreover, during the summoning period, those First-class Legendaries were pelled to fight on its behalf.
It was an absurdly overpowered ability.
"Hahaha, how about this?"
Hoopa looked proudly at the seven First-class Legendaries standing before it.
Six of them had been summoned by its rings.
Yveltal, meanwhile, had willingly joined Hoopa's side because it held a grudge against Julian.
"Not bad."
Julian nodded, his expression unchanged.
After all, he had long known about this ability of Hoopa's, so he wasn't the least bit surprised by it summoning First-class Legendaries.
Ho-Oh, the Creation Trio, Zygarde—Julian's eyes sparkled somewhat as he looked at these five First-class Legendaries.
The first four had long since been discovered by humanity, but this was still the first time Julian had ever seen them with his own eyes.
As for Zygarde, humanity had never discovered it.
It had probably been sleeping in some Secret Realm or Ancient Ruin all this time before Hoopa directly summoned it here.
And judging from its expression, it looked more than a little confused.
