The shocked voice of the comntator rang across every television in the world.
"Could that really have been a Pokémon that only just evolved?"
Beside her, Professor Ashford stroked his chin, eyes gleaming with thought.
"Now, Nolan is down to his final Pokémon."
"Will it be enough for him to claw back victory and secure the title or will Lanny's Ampharos defy the odds and complete a never-before-seen one-versus-three miracle?"
All across the globe, people held their breath. Whether it ended in Nolan's triumph or Lanny's impossible upset, this battle was already destined to be etched forever into the history of the Pokémon League.
The ratings had shattered records the instant Ampharos evolved, surpassing even Cynthia's championship defense years earlier. Online forums were already exploding with threads debates about the champion, speculation about Lanny's background, and even desperate requests for "How to raise a Mareep."
But inside the stadium, all eyes were locked on Nolan.
He raised his final Poké Ball, expression feverish, and hurled it high.
A flash of crimson light split the sky.
The figure that landed glead like armor forged in fire scarlet plating shining with tallic luster, four translucent wings buzzing so fast they burned the air into white contrails. Two colossal pincers snapped shut with a predatory crack.
"Scizor," the evolved form of Scyther, Nolan's hidden ace, had entered the field.
The tallic feet slamd down, shaking the arena. Golden eyes lit with battle hunger, mirroring the frenzy burning in its trainer's gaze.
It didn't wait for orders. With a roar of wings, Scizor shot forward, body a blur of red light streaking across the battlefield.
The crowd gasped. Scyther had always been a fan-favorite sleek, fast, and iconic. But Scizor was rarer. Its evolution required not only imnse natural talent, but also the mysterious tal Coat, an ancient artifact said to channel energies from lost ruins. Most trainers never even dread of it.
And Nolan's Scizor wasn't just any Scizor. Raised from childhood with rare tals woven into its diet, forged under the imnse wealth and power of the Whiteoak family, it had achieved the pinnacle of its species.
It bore the hidden ability Light tal, halving its weight and erasing the one flaw that normally slowed Scizor's armored body. What should have been a lumbering tank was instead a crimson bullet.
The shriek of tearing air followed it as it blurred back and forth, red lightning across stone.
Kael didn't move. The newly evolved Ampharos simply stood, relaxed, eyes half-closed.
Even with his heightened vision, he could barely track Scizor's silhouette. Before his evolution, such speed would have overwheld him.
But now...
He inhaled. The gem on his forehead pulsed crimson, and a surge of magnetic force thundered outward.
The air itself warped under the pressure. Heat shimred, sound distorted.
In an instant, the battlefield was swallowed whole by Kael's electromagnetic field.
