Nathan’s POV
"STOP IT!" I angrily pushed Sophia away when she tried to kiss . I glanced at my phone and cursed as Kyra continued to refuse to answer my calls.
"Fuck!" I shouted and threw my phone onto the bed.
Sophia stood before almost naked, with only a white towel wrapped around her body, desperately trying to seduce .
"You can’t just do this to , Nathan! I left and gave you ti to think, but that doesn’t an you’re going back to her. She’s soone else’s leftover—"
"Stop talking about her like that, Sophia! You’re insulting the woman I love!"
She gasped, her eyes widening. "No! I am the one you love, Nathan. Not that bitch! I was your first love and I will be your last! I’m your fated mate, the Moon Goddess chose for you!"
"Yes," I admitted. "I accepted the Moon Goddess’s arrangent and fell madly in love with you. But you rejected and cheated, didn’t you?"
Her face turned pale. "But when I ca back, you accepted again. Our mate bond was deteriorating, but it was still there, wasn’t it?"
I slowly shook my head, glaring at her. "You’re crazy."
"Yes! I’m crazy! So crazy for you, Nathan. And you made like this!"
"Don’t bla for what you’ve beco! That was your choice, Sophia."
"My choice?" she scoffed. "You said you loved and I gave up everything for you! You said you loved but you cheated on —"
"You were the one who cheated, Sophia!" I growled. "You ruined us first, so you don’t have the right to do this!"
"You ca back to , Nathan!" she said, tears rolling down her cheeks. "You forgave and accepted again, but... but you just hurt in the end."
"I already apologized, Sophia. I want to make things right, so I let you go."
"And now you’re chasing your ex-wife!" she shouted angrily. "You never chased like that, Nathan! I was always the one running back to you!"
I pushed her away firmly. "I fell in love with Kyra. When she left , I realized that your so-called true mate bond ant nothing to anymore. I love Kyra as a person—her gentleness, her resilience, everything about her! Without any destiny’s bonus, I love her for who she is."
I swallowed hard and looked directly into her eyes. "Maybe my love for you was shallow. I’m sorry..."
"No! No..." She cupped my cheeks and tried to kiss again.
"Sophia, stop it! I said stop!"
"No!" she shook her head desperately and unwrapped the towel around her body, showing her nakedness.
I clenched my jaw. "Get dressed, Sophia. Don’t do this to yourself—"
"I will do this for you! I’m doing this for myself, Nathan! Love again. I know you still care for . I know you can still love ."
"That’s impossible now, Sophia. I’m in love with Kyra—"
"YOU’RE NOT!" she scread and threw herself at . We both landed on the bed, with her on top of . She hugged my neck and tried to kiss my lips again but it landed on my cheek. I held her waist and grabbed the blanket before covering her body with it. I flipped our positions and pinned her on the bed.
Her tears rolled down her cheeks as she looked at , her eyes full of sorrow, hatred, and pain.
"Y-You can still love ..."
I clenched my jaw and shook my head. "You ca here and purposely spilled your coffee on your dress. I didn’t shoo you away and helped you. Now, I’m asking you to leave because the woman I love misunderstood what you did."
"I don’t believe you! You’re just trying to avoid responsibility!" she scread. "You’re just a player who gets with one woman and then falls for another. If you truly loved her that much, why did you help ti after ti when I ca back? Wasn’t that giving hope?"
I stood up from the bed, suddenly realizing my mistake. Because I loved my mother and sister, I had always respected won and offered help when needed. This gentlemanly behavior had given Sophia false hope. She’s purposely ruining things between Kyra and , and I can’t accept it. I’m trying so hard to fix my relationship with Kyra and I won’t let anyone ruin it.
I gritted my teeth. "I will be the one to choose the woman I want to be with for the rest of my life, and I want to be with Kyra, Sophia. She’s the only woman I can see in my future. She’s the only one I can see myself with as I’m dying on my deathbed. Sophia, it’s not easy for either. But I don’t want to lie to myself. I want to be happy, and Kyra is the woman who can give that happiness. I’m sorry, but you have to forget about . Find another man who will love you the way you deserve, because I don’t deserve your love. I will only ruin you."
"It doesn’t matter. My life is already rotten. I can’t live without you."
She reached for again, trying to remove my shirt, but I pushed her away firmly. I threw my suit jacket at her to cover herself.
"You’re being so gentle with now. Doesn’t that an you still care about ?"
"That was my mistake," I said coldly. "But if that’s how you see it."
"Now, get out of my room and don’t co back," I said in my Alpha tone.
Sophia lowered her head in submission. She was responding to the Alpha command, her body trembling as she fought against the power of my words. Her face twisted with rage and pain as she wrapped herself in my jacket.
"You will regret this, Nathan," she hissed, tears streaming down her face as she backed toward the door. "I will make sure you’ll regret this. I will not let you and Kyra end up together. If I have to sell my soul to the devil, I willingly will. You’re not going to be happy with her. If you won’t end up with ... you won’t end up with anyone else."
