And that's exactly what happened. Jas just got knocked out, asleep maybe because of the jet lag with the mix of the pain he had endured in recent days, or simply the overwhelming feeling of being ho again, surrounded by the emptiness. With the top of the all the bullshit he would have to deal with. The eting with Linda and the others, reforming the family, recruiting new people, going through numbers and plans, thought none of it mattered now.

He was knocked out, dreaming of sothing better.

anwhile, Charlotte was making herself comfortable with Bella, packing out in her room, making things a little more colorful, while Hector himself sat down to rest a bit, exhausted from everything he had done. He had killed so much that it all weighed on him, not even counting his mother and sisters, whom he was planning to send to Maraci because he didn't want them staying in danger as he knew things could spiral out of control quickly… he had no fucking trust in the governnt.

"So he is back, yeah?" Linda's voice ca as she was sitting in her office back at the Minister of Justice, which was actually now the Departnt of Justice.

The whole na change and position change made no sense, really, as she held the sa position with the sa power, but the na kind of gave her more aura.

Like the Attorney General, being the "general" of sothing carried a different feeling… a feeling that she could be fucked up even more now. She knew she could pass laws that required only her signature, laws that didn't even need the president's approval, just a glance from him, yet everybody knew exactly where that would lead.

A law would pass, and if nobody liked it, the president would point his finger at Linda, saying he hadn't even seen it, that it was never presented to him… it was all her. What a genius idea, perfect scapegoats

"Exactly, he landed this morning, with everybody on board except his mother." Stephen answered her.

"That's actually good." Linda began. "That ans a huge liability has disappeared, sothing neither we nor he need to be careful about anymore… honestly, a better outco couldn't have happened."

Yeah, the fact that Erika was no longer close to Jas was a huge win for everybody, not just for Jas. It ant, first of all, that Erika couldn't influence him anymore, couldn't tell him what to do, what was right or wrong. She was no longer an emotional and psychological liability to him. And on the governnt's side, it ant the worst scenario was gone. They all knew that if sothing had happened to Erika, they would have been completely fucked, and that fear lived in every one of them. But now that fear was gone, knowing she was back in Maraci, nowhere near Jas.

It felt like he had finally thrown off the chain that had been restraining him, which maybe wasn't such a good thing after all, because it also ant he wouldn't give a single fuck about anything anymore.

"Though Charlotte is still with him." Stephen continued as he eyed Linda. "And we all know they are a family, which ans she is his number one priority."

"Maybe that is not a liability." Thomas joined in as he sipped his coffee. "If we look at it, Charlotte is the last Augustus, the princess of the throne, and we all know that Lucian's plan was to sit her on the throne. But he died, which ans the person who is going to put her on the throne is Jas himself."

"But she is a child." Linda began again. "A child is always a liability to everybody, whether it's a normal person or Jas. Even if she experienced a lot, a child stays a child, soone who needs to be protected."

"I still think she is not a liability, but the one the throne is waiting for." Thomas countered, holding to his point. "If Charlotte were a liability, Jas wouldn't bring her with him. But he did, which ans he has already made her the one who will take power if sothing happens."

Silence followed as Thomas finished. What he had said pointed to only one thing, foreshadowing the future. For Charlotte to take power, at least ten years would need to pass and for her to take power at all, Jas would need to die. Not just Jas, but the entire Bellini family.

From Hector to Bella to Ferucci to Sophia, every single one of them would need to disappear from the face of the earth for Charlotte to take power, to give her the right to lead the family.

Not just that, but if Jas were to die sohow, the whole thing would collapse. One thing was certain, Hector wouldn't sit idly by, and even if he died, the others would avenge him.

The entire empire could crumble.

"Why do we even talk about all of this?" Benjamin's voice ca as he joined them. "We successfully pulled off the biggest operation in history. It took thousands, a joint effort of all the agencies. We closed the borders, eliminated hundreds of them, arrested, cleaned out, and removed the rest. We seized huge amounts of drugs, money, weapons, chemicals and now we're talking about a future we don't know shit about." He paused, eyeing Linda. "We're talking about the death of the person this whole thing is built on, the person everything depends on. That's the worst thing we can do."

Benjamin was right… they were talking about sothing that would be the worst possible scenario for all of this. If Jas were to die, the whole thing would co crashing down and on top of that, he was a Bellini too, and hearing them discuss it only angered him.

And it was genuinely dumb… a dumbass situation. Jas had just co back, and the first thing they talked about was his death and his liabilities, as if the whole fucking foundation wasn't already built. As if all they didn't need to do now was comply and do what Jas wanted.

It was fucking outrageous.

"True,," Stephen spoke. "We're talking about the wrong thing here. What we need to focus on is the future and our plan, rather than imagining him already dead, that's the worst thing we can do. But since he's been gone, all we've done is focus on the operation and its aftermath. What do we want from him, though? How much of a cut? What do we allow him to do?"

"We already talked about it, and he knows it—"

"You are wrong, Linda." Benjamin interrupted her. "That was the past. Since then, he went to Maraci, t with Darvik, and there's no doubt he made a deal with him." A faint smile appeared on his face. "We might have made deals with him before, but those deals no longer exist in his mind, and we all know it. This operation put so much under our control that we can make fucking billions. The chemicals, the equipnt, it's all there for him. So when he cos to et us, that's when we'll show him what we have, and what we can build together."

Linda knew it, just like everybody else. The whole operation ca with sothing else attached to it… that all the deals they had made, all the future they had planned, no longer existed. They hadn't truly believed it would actually happen.

That they would wipe out everyone in the capital, leaving only Jas standing. That they would seize equipnt, warehouses, land, houses, hangars from those criminals' assets that could all be repurposed for Jas. That the sheer amount of chemicals alone would be enough to poison an entire country.

With all of this, they could beco a narco state, a governnt-funded narco state where billions would flow in.

And they did it. They actually pulled it off. Now the plan was to go after the whole fucking country, every street, every city. An operation aid not just at becoming a narco state, but a narco country.

The epicenter of the drug trade on the continent and Jas had been given everything.

It is almost impossible to truly grasp how vast it all is.

There is the port with cargo ships that can transport drugs without a single problem, then the airport, which Jas can use to ship products across the entire continent, all of it perfectly legal. The planes and ships are under companies controlled by the governnt itself and everything operates within the law… Jas only has to package the drugs and hand them over for others to sell.

Yet all of it relies on one crucial thing… a production line, the largest the country has ever seen, capable of supplying everything.

In short… narco‑factories. Not like Maraci, where only the money flows in, a country that keeps gangsters, drug lords, arms dealers, and others clean, their money usable and protected, but a place that becos sothing else entirely.

A country that produces drugs and sells them like fucking candy, flooding the entire continent.
