"320 trillion."
The lady increased the bid again, causing Kent to furrow his brow.
"350 trillion."
He increased it as well, hoping the fatty would finally back down. However, he was clearly determined to have the World Core Crystal for himself.
This made Kent wonder just who the man was and why he needed something that perhaps only an alchemist or a blacksmith would have any proper use for.
Looking at his stature, it was plain as day that he was neither an alchemist nor a blacksmith, so why did he need it?
Most of the people who fought over it had a tangible use for it, so Kent had no reason to wonder why they were bidding. However, this one clearly didn’t fit either role.
Of course, Kent knew the universe was vast, and what worked for one person might not work for another. He also knew the World Core Crystal could be used for other purposes, so he had no reason to doubt the man.
In that case, since the man clearly had a use for the World Core Crystal, Kent wasn’t about to concern himself with what others needed it for.
The bid continued to climb for a few minutes before Kent finally had enough and decided to use one of his trump cards—his extensive wealth.
"500 trillion."
He raised the bid from 350 trillion to 500 trillion, and everyone in the auction hall gasped at once.
The increase was massive, something many hadn’t expected to see in this year’s auction, at least not for the twenty-second item. The previous Mega Auction had ended with the final item selling for 400 trillion.
Even then, many had wondered why someone would spend that much on a piece of fabric. However, the fabric auctioned off for the last item in that auction was woven from the reverse scale of the infamous Primordial Chaos Dragon.
Its sentimental value far surpassed that of most treasures, so a price of 400 trillion was understandable. However, while World Core Crystals weren’t that mon, they weren’t exactly impossible to obtain.
After all, it was mon knowledge that wherever a massive battle broke out, the world involved usually died much faster.
So, obtaining a World Core Crystal was far more likely than getting a piece of fabric made from the scales of the Chaos Dragon.
In their opinion, Kent had gone too far, and even Lady Wu couldn’t help but nod.
She knew Kent had the money to pay, but she hadn’t expected him to go that far.
But it worked.
The fatty didn’t place another bid after Kent raised it to 500 trillion. However, a lazy voice came from his room a few seconds later.
"Young man, you really are something, huh?" he laughed before adding, "It is your win this time, young man. I’m sure the next one will be mine."
He had already won five items, so saying that sounded shameless. However, Kent simply smiled and replied,
"At the end of the day, it’s all about who ends up owning the items they bid for. But I will mend your interest in treasures of great value. I can tell you’re someone who appreciates priceless things."
"That I am. I have quite a collection of them. I am sure I will add even more after this auction."
Many gritted their teeth when they heard what the man said. Clearly, he was a collector, and to most people, that was the worst kind of profession to pursue.
Those people bought items of great value and importance only to place them in display cases for their own amusement.
Strangely, most collectors are extremely rich—so rich, in fact, that they could dominate auctions from start to finish.
Kent smiled and gave him a rather insightful reply.
"You know what they say—the journey of a man ends when he no longer has the willpower to hold on to his dignity. Sometimes, they cross over to the next plane before they even realize it. You, sir, are someone who knows how to carry yourself, and you even conceded to a youngster such as myself. I will repay you thirteenfold when the time es."
"I will take you up on that, Kent Madson."
Kent grinned and replied, "Trust me, I don’t break my promises."
His wives shook their heads, knowing the man was as good as dead. To them, everything Kent had just said was a threat wrapped in a beautiful pliment.
He intended to kill the man who had dared take the feisty wife from his past incarnation as a slave.
Had it not been for his wives sitting him down and making sure he thought things through before attacking, he would have already killed the man. However, he managed to keep his anger just beneath the surface.
Right now, he had merely told the man what he intended to do to him. In essence, the man clearly didn’t know he had offended a very dangerous barbarian who was also a dragon, as well as a Blood and Evil Cultivator.
"He is dead," Yukiko muttered, shaking her head.
Meanwhile, on the stage, seeing that there were no more bids ing in, Lady Wu announced Kent as the winner. Yet again, Kent said he would be paying after the auction.
Before introducing the twenty-third item, Lady Wu addressed everyone first.
"We are finally down to the last three items. At the last Brown Maple Mega Auction, the final three items were all wearables. We fought over the Grim Reaper Hood, a relic from the Primordial Era.
We also fought over the Six-Eyed Water Demon King’s Necklace, a relic from the Dark Era, and finally, we witnessed the intense bidding war for the breastplate made from the reverse scales of the Primordial Chaos Dragon.
It was a wild ride. However, the event ended on a good note for everyone.
I am happy to announce that this auction will witness the sale of three legendary elemental techniques, each estimated to be at the rank of Pseudo-Primordial."
Gasps.
Everyone, including Kent, gasped. He clearly hadn’t expected this, and his previous assumption that the auction was essentially over had just been thrown out the window.
’I need to win one of these techniques and merge it with Divine Flame Armament.’
His eyes sparkled as he thought about the technique he planned to use in his next mission. It was something he had created by merging several flame techniques he had learned during the Flame Tower trial back on Sonox.
Back then, he hadn’t possessed enough flame essence to wield the Primordial-grade Finger of Destruction, so he had created Divine Flame Armament as his go-to technique.
However, after recovering most of his memories, he realized that Divine Flame Armament had tremendous potential. He even speculated that it could be pushed to the Primordial rank.
However, improving it would require many techniques. Thankfully, he was about to see what the auction had in store for him.
Soon, the next item was brought out—an ice technique meant for mages. Kent asked his wives if they wanted it, but they declined, so he didn’t place a bid.
Someone won it for a staggering 350 trillion spirit stones.
The second was an earth-element technique that sold for 370 trillion. He didn’t bid on that either, since it wasn’t something he wanted.
Then the final item was brought out, and the moment its name was announced, his eyes widened.
"Up next is the second form of the infamous Finger of Destruction technique."
