“Fuck, this is not how I expected my day to go,” Kent muttered, looking around him. Bodies of beasts he had slain lay strewn on the ground.

He had just stepped into the inner section of the Fla Valley, yet the danger he found himself in wasn’t one he expected. Of course, he dealt with it, but the energy expended in the battles was much more than he used for the other fla beast he killed in the outer section.

The last beast he took down was the sa as the first beast he killed when he stepped into the Fla Valley. But this one had already reached the Core Formation and had refined its core three tis.

Of course, its bloodline remained unawakened, but it was already too dangerous to be underestimated. So Kent took the battle seriously.

Thankfully, he wasn’t so weak, overconfident brat who chose to throw his life away. Kent has the strength to back up his arrogance, so he used it to continue moving forward.

However, he dodged again and spread his senses. That was when Kent saw who was attacking him…

“A beetle.”

It was a large beetle with iridescent fiery wings and a glowing horn. The horns mounted on its head were where the attacks ca from, and judging by how fast the attacks were coming, it was clear Kent had t a real challenger this ti.

Right when his sword appeared, a thick shade fell on Kent. Up ahead, a giant beetle with 20-ter-wide wings appeared, lunging at Kent.

Kent quickly distanced himself by blinking away. However, the beetle didn’t abandon the attack. Instead, it landed heavily on the ground, causing it to shake.

Then, from the shock, a powerful explosion erupted from the ground, shooting lava at Kent.

Sword qi surged from Kent’s blade, cutting through the thick, scorching lava as he retaliated with a swift slash aid at the beetle’s wings.

The wings were large, so it was an obvious target. However, Kent was shocked when his attack was evaded.

The beetle twisted midair, narrowly avoiding the blow, but Kent saw a faint scorch mark trail behind. The beetle screeched—a terrifying sound that echoed through the valley—before charging again with relentless fury.

Kent leapt backward, narrowly escaping a deadly thrust. The ground beneath him cracked and smoldered from the heat of the attack.

Landing on the ground, Kent unleashed a ‘Doom Shard’ from the ground, sending it through the wings of the beetle. This attack worked, causing the creature to falter midair.

However, to Kent’s shock, his next attack struck the beetle, but it dispersed into nothingness.

‘Illusion.’ Kent wondered, watching his Doom shard move through the air before it vanished.

Of course, it wasn’t a real illusion per se, but the beetle was able to use visual distortions to deceive Kent…

The attack struck an illusion while the main beetle was already upon Kent. He used ‘Blink’ to distance himself, buying a second to ponder what had just happened.

“I have enough ntal strength to see through illusion… so why couldn’t I see through the beetle’s illusion?”
