In the library, the three of them, An Jiuyue, found a place to sit, and Bai Ze was the first to talk about the events that had occurred in Demon Heart Hall recently.
"Sister-in-law, you have no idea. Over the past year, strange occurrences have beco more frequent on Wulong Mountain. Compared to before, the number of deaths keeps increasing, and the ways people die are bizarre beyond belief."
A year ago, people were dying too, but nothing like this.
"Now, many individuals are afraid to go outside, or they’re debating whether to return to the planes they originally ca from. Troubles keep piling up."
For those who can return, it’s not a big deal. If they can’t live here anymore, they can go back to their own plane. But for many more people—those who are second-, third-generation, or even later residents of Wulong Mountain—
they have nowhere to go back to. They can only remain on Wulong Mountain, and that’s the crux of the problem.
When fear takes root in their hearts, it often leads to mischief. Over ti, the troubles only grow worse.
"Now, the deployable personnel from both Demon Heart Hall and Jun Lin Hall have been sent out to address issues everywhere. To be honest with you, I even sent Xie Qi out!"
He rubbed his forehead with one hand, speaking with an air of frustration.
Fortunately, after more than a year of training, Xie Qi has beco far more stable in temperant and capable of handling quite a few things, avoiding any major mistakes.
He’s stretched so thin that he wishes he could split everyone into two, three, or even four people to get the work done, yet it still wouldn’t be enough.
An Jiuyue closed her eyes briefly.
She wasn’t surprised; she had long prepared herself for this.
"Sister-in-law, what do you think is going on? It’s getting weirder and weirder. In so places, there are random fires that can’t be extinguished, the kind that just burns on and on."
Bai Ze asked.
"It’s because of the Evil Spirit Universe. The greater its power, the broader the destruction it inflicts on Wulong Mountain," An Jiuyue replied.
"Evil Spirit Universe again!"
Bai Ze clenched his silver teeth so hard he might crush them. He had suspected it was Evil Spirit Universe, but he hadn’t thought the entity was capable of causing so much havoc.
It turns out he was right—it really was Evil Spirit Universe!
"Then what are we supposed to do? Are we completely powerless?"
They sent out so many people, but it didn’t help. What could they possibly find out?
"Should we recall everyone we sent out?" he asked.
Now, neither Demon Heart Hall nor Jun Lin Hall had anyone guarding them. What kind of situation was this? An outsider might think both halls were completely abandoned.
And indeed, the two halls were nearly empty; all the personnel had been dispatched.
"No need. Let them stay outside."
An Jiuyue shook her head. Having mbers of the two halls working outside had its advantages—at least it showed everyone that Demon Heart Hall and Jun Lin Hall cared and were actively searching for the source of these strange occurrences.
It helped pacify the fear in so people’s hearts.
"And don’t spread word of this matter either. Evil Spirit Universe—it’s only a matter of ti before we deal with it."
They were preparing to set out for Blue Sun Space soon. When the ti ca, it would be a contest of skills between them and Evil Spirit Universe to see who would co out on top.
"I understand,"
Bai Ze nodded. Of course, he wouldn’t recklessly leak information about Evil Spirit Universe.
"We don’t need the others to return for now. Call Mo Aotian back."
Qian Jiyun spoke. Mo Aotian was outside, yet besides clinging to Gu Chi, he served no real purpose. It’d be better to have him back at Demon Heart Hall as soone who could be summoned at any ti.
"You go on with whatever you need to do. If we need anything, once Mo Aotian is back, let him prepare it. Also, tell him not to bring Gu Chi back—make sure he knows this is a direct order from ."
He added a remark for emphasis.
