And he wasn’t even allowed to drag Gu Chi back with him! Returning alone felt so miserable.
He really wanted to go back, but it wasn’t an option. Both the Hall Master and the High Priest had commanded his return, and if he dared to defy their orders, they’d surely make him suffer the consequences.

He knew the people from the two halls were busy, so it was normal for there to be no one around. But still, having not a single soul in sight was a little too much.

"There’s soone, there’s soone. I’m here, aren’t I? Who are you looking for? Tell , and I’ll take you to them." The little baby raised his chubby hand high and said cheerfully.

When did Demon Heart Hall stoop so low as to rely on a little baby to guard it?
What was Bai Ze even doing? Did he forget what kind of place Demon Heart Hall was? Even if he had to leave, he should’ve arranged for soone reliable to watch over it!

Mo Aotian was shocked, but soon, he figured out who the little baby was.
Bai Ze had ntioned before that Jiyun and the High Priest had a talkative son who would blurt out whatever ca to mind. Clearly, that had to be this little one.
So, the "little uncle" he spoke of must be Bai Ze, right?
"Bai Ze, huh? Is he in the hall? I’ll go find him myself." With that, he started stepping closer to pick up the little baby.
However, as soon as the little baby saw him approaching, he backed away several steps. "Stay right there! Don’t co any closer. If you take one more step, I’ll call soone to co beat you up!"
Wei Na had warned him to always be cautious of others. He’d been kidnapped before, and even though this was Demon Heart Hall, it didn’t guarantee that everyone who entered was trustworthy.
