Just as Alice Turner suspected, Isla Lane indeed had heard the news about her pregnancy, but unlike Sophia Wood, Isla was overjoyed; after all, this would be the first grandchild of the Shaw Family.
After finishing the call with Benjamin Shaw, Isla Lane imdiately called Alice Turner. She only picked up the call slowly, just before it automatically disconnected, "Hello..."
As soon as Alice said hello, Isla couldn’t wait to continue, "Alice! Are you at the office now? Mom wants to co see you."
Her joy was undeniable; she never even considered the possibility that the news might be fake. In her heart, she believed it was true: her daughter-in-law was pregnant, carrying the Shaw Family’s grandchild.
"There’s no need, I’m not at the office right now." Alice took a deep breath and asked in a steady voice, "Is there anything you need? We can talk over the phone if that’s convenient for you."
The person on the other end was so overjoyed that they had lost their senses and didn’t ask anything; all they wanted was to co to the office to see her.
Isla Lane had already decided Alice was pregnant; hearing Alice say this didn’t make her change her mind at all, "Aren’t you pregnant? Mom wants to co see you and take you out for sothing nice to eat."
She didn’t hold back her happiness at all and made no secret of her reason and purpose for wanting to see Alice. In her heart, she was just excited to take her pregnant daughter-in-law out for a feast.
"I’m pregnant?! Mom! Who told you such nonsense? If I were pregnant, how could I not know?" Even though Alice knew well where Isla had heard it from, she deliberately responded with surprise.
She did this just to tell Isla on the phone that the pregnancy news was false and that she was not pregnant at all.
Convinced of Alice’s pregnancy, Isla was completely caught off guard when she heard Alice say this.
"Alice! You don’t need to hide it from Mom anymore. Benjamin just called and told that you’re over a month pregnant."
"Child! Don’t be shy, being pregnant is a good thing. This is such great news for the Shaw Family."
Hearing Alice’s words, Isla, who was convinced Alice was pregnant, thought Alice was trying to keep it a secret out of shyness.
Listening to Isla ramble on, Alice was about to lose her mind. She didn’t care if it seed rude or impolite, and she denied the pregnancy again, only this ti her tone wasn’t so friendly, "I already told you, I’m not pregnant. I’m telling you again, I’m not pregnant. You’ve been tricked by your son, Benjamin Shaw."
The person on the other end had always been kind to her, and she didn’t want to speak like this, but she was genuinely in a terrible mood right now.
"What? What did you say? Benjamin deceived ? Why would he deceive ?" Hearing Alice deny the pregnancy again, Isla began to feel doubtful but still believed Alice was pregnant.
Alice sighed and said, "Why he would deceive you, I have no idea. You’ll have to ask him yourself."
She genuinely had no clue why that jerk did what he did. Earlier, calling him crazy was just an outburst; she was truly frustrated with him.
That man had been annoying her for days, but today he had reached a whole new level of it.
