The person who showed up wasn’t Evelyn Taylor, but Easton Hols’ mother, Alia Linton. After receiving a tip-off call from Evelyn that morning, she wanted to rush over imdiately to see the situation for herself.
However, worried that her hasty arrival might complicate things, she mulled it over at ho for quite a while. Eventually, she decided to co over during Easton Hols’ lunch break.
This way, both parties would be present, allowing her to get to the bottom of the matter all at once.
"What brings you here?"
The two calls Easton had just ended were from Alia Linton. Seeing his own mother at the door, he wasn’t surprised at all.
His mother wasn’t a frequent visitor here. Her sudden visit today clearly indicated that soone had snitched.
Alia Linton shot an annoyed glance at Easton Hols, who was questioning her, and bypassed him to stride directly into the house. "Can’t I co to see my son?"
Easton Hols offered no further argunt, closing the door and walking towards the living room following Alia’s footsteps.
Upon hearing footsteps, Lily Turner tossed the bowl and chopsticks she was holding onto the coffee table and turned to look towards the entrance of the living room.
Instead of seeing Evelyn Taylor, she saw a woman who was elegantly and gracefully dressed. Though the woman took good care of her appearance, it was still apparent that ti had left its mark on her face.
"Son! Is this your friend?"
Alia Linton also noticed Lily Turner sitting on the sofa. Although she already knew who was sitting there, she still turned to ask Easton Hols, who followed her in.
She deliberately called Easton "son" with a slightly elevated voice to signify her identity to Lily Turner.
Son?!
So this middle-aged woman was his mother, which ans she’s her mother-in-law.
Lily Turner hurriedly stood up from the sofa to greet Alia Linton, who was walking towards her.
Easton Hols glanced at Lily Turner, who looked tense, and replied earnestly, "She is not my friend; she is my wife!"
Since soone had already snitched, there was no need for him to hide it any longer.
"Wife?!"
Alia Linton was quite shocked. When Evelyn Taylor called her in the morning, she didn’t explain clearly, only ntioning that a woman had moved in with Easton Hols.
She had speculated on various identities for this woman, but a wife wasn’t among them.
Easton initially thought that Alia was playing dumb again, but seeing his mother’s genuinely surprised expression, he began to wonder.
He kept his confusion to himself, not showing it outwardly. With a serious tone, he repeated once more, "You didn’t hear wrong, and I didn’t misspeak. She is my wife, and the two of us are legally married."
"You two are legally married? When did this happen?" Alia Linton’s face bore expressions of surprise, reproach, and anger. She glanced at Lily Turner standing beside her, then shifted her gaze back to Easton Hols. "I don’t agree, nor do I accept it."
The celebrity status was already enough to unsettle her, and with behavior so out of line, she couldn’t possibly agree.
If others found out, it would bring a scandal to their family; it’s not like the Hols Residence couldn’t find a decent bride.
Having such a woman as a daughter-in-law would be tarnishing the Hols family’s reputation.
"Your disagreent and disapproval are all invalid. The two of us are already a lawful couple." Easton Hols paused briefly, then continued, "Just mind that father-son affair, and stop worrying about my business."
