Alia Linton never thought things would turn out this way. Seeing her father’s angry expression, she realized that today’s visit was in vain.
"Dad! I’m leaving now, I’ll co to see you another day." To avoid further angering her already furious father, Alia stood up and headed outside.
"You better not co again. Don’t ddle in Easton’s affairs either; you can’t handle it."
Hearing Callix Linton’s words, Alia, who was walking out, suddenly stopped and turned to look at Callix sitting on the sofa.
"Dad! You can’t treat this way; I am your own daughter." She had made mistakes over the years, but she had realized them. She felt terrible and was looking for ways to make it up to her son.
It wasn’t so much that Callix was angry with Alia, but rather that he was filled with resentnt. Her actions over the years had greatly disappointed him as a father.
He had spent his life in the military, cultivating many officers and accomplished military talents, yet he failed to guide his own daughter properly.
Fortunately, he had taught his only grandson well. His grandson made him very proud, and every ti he thought of how he had personally nurtured his grandson, he felt imnse pride and joy.
Thinking of his outstanding grandson, Easton Hols, the resentnt and anger on Callix Linton’s face gradually faded. He lifted his eyes to look at Alia, who had reached the living room door, "You don’t need to remind ; I’m not so old and confused that I can’t recognize people."
He knew she didn’t an that, but he deliberately argued with her. Before she could speak, he added, "Even if you think I’m so old that I can’t judge people, you should trust your son. Your son’s intelligence didn’t co from you, nor did his character co from your husband."
"Dad! Do you have to hit where it hurts?"
Alia was mortified by what her father said; this wasn’t sothing a father should say to his daughter. Whose low intelligence was she inheriting?
Callix gave Alia a disgruntled look and added to his earlier remarks, "Oh! Your son’s stubbornness cos from you. I advise you not to interfere in his affairs, otherwise, don’t bla if he turns against you."
Easton Hols and Alia were both very stubborn. As their elder, Callix saw this clearly, and to prevent future unpleasantness, he tily reminded his daughter.
"You think Easton will turn against ?"
Alia suddenly recalled what had just happened with Easton. Her son might indeed turn against her; they had already had an unpleasant exchange just now.
What kind of cunning trick had that woman used? Why was her son so infatuated with her?
Hearing Alia’s puzzled questions, Callix, unaware of the details, thought she didn’t believe his words and beca slightly irritated. "I’ve said what needed to be said and reminded you. Whether you believe it or not is up to you, but don’t co crying to when things go wrong."
Having said that, the elder Mr. Linton got up and left the living room to return to his room, completely ignoring how Alia would react. He went back to his room for a nap.
Watching the direction her father left, Alia stood absent-mindedly for a long ti. Her father’s words echoed in her ears, leaving her mind in turmoil without a single clear thought.
