Ever since Alia Linton and Evelyn Taylor visited their ho, Lily Turner’s heart had been unsettled, always prepared for the possibility of them coming again, possibly with others.
Three days passed without any visitors at ho.
However, Lily did not let her guard down; she knew very well that this was only a temporary calm, and a bigger storm would follow.
As Lily expected, on the morning of the fifth day, two unexpected guests arrived at the house.
"Auntie!"
After politely greeting Alia, Lily turned her gaze to the woman who followed Alia inside. The woman was simply dressed and looked to be around fifty years old.
If she guessed correctly, this middle-aged woman was a servant.
Alia glanced at Lily, pulled the middle-aged woman who was following her, and introduced her, "This is Sister Gui, who will be responsible for all the household chores from now on."
With that, she led Sister Gui into the house, started familiarizing her with the environnt, and instructed her on her future tasks.
Watching the two of them go about their business as if no one else were around, Lily scratched her head in frustration, realizing that there wasn’t just one more person in the house, but also a mobile surveillance cara.
Alia seed to act as if Lily didn’t exist, taking Sister Gui on a tour upstairs and downstairs. Once Sister Gui was thoroughly familiar with the place, she finally ca down to the living room.
Seeing Alia co in, Lily, who was sitting on the sofa, instinctively stood up, "Auntie!"
She knew the woman walking in was her mother-in-law, and she wanted to call her mom like Easton did. However, his mother had already expressed her stance yesterday, not accepting her as a daughter-in-law.
She didn’t want to offer friendliness to soone cold, so she chose to call her auntie for now and would consider changing it later based on the situation.
"Lily Turner! Do you love my son as a person or love his money?" Alia didn’t waste any ti and asked directly as soon as she sat on the sofa.
Wasn’t that question a bit too straightforward?
But it was much better than those who beat around the bush.
Lily was stunned for a mont, then replied, "Auntie, I think you have already investigated , and you should know my current situation. Although I am not as wealthy as your son, I am not lacking money."
If she loved money, she certainly wouldn’t be like this now.
Alia had indeed had Lily investigated these past few days and knew everything about her situation clearly.
"Since you love my son, then why did you still marry Henry Thompson?" The uninford Alia, upon hearing Lily’s words, assud she didn’t love money, hence must love her son, Easton Hols.
Having guessed that Alia had already investigated her, Lily wasn’t surprised or shocked by her words, but her expression did change slightly.
"Because I was montarily confused!"
Montarily confused to fall in love with that man, montarily confused to entrust her life to such a man.
Fortunately, her ’good girlfriend’ had a guilty conscience and designed such a sche, allowing her to see the true face of that man completely. Otherwise, she would have regretted it for a lifeti.
"Montarily confused?" Alia repeated, seemingly puzzled and unconvinced, "You married Henry Thompson because you were montarily confused, then what is marrying my son and getting the marriage certificate? Is that also a montary confusion?"
