"Easton Hols! You really..."
Lily Turner raised her hand to strike Easton Hols, but as soon as she lifted it, he grabbed it.
She struggled to pull her hand back, but he held on tightly, and after several attempts, she still couldn’t succeed. "Let go!"
Despite the limited light around them, she glared at him defiantly.
"Honey! Can you hit upstairs? I don’t want people to laugh at us."
Just as Easton finished speaking, Mrs. Gui erged from the corner, seemingly cooperating with him, her timing impeccable.
The mont Mrs. Gui appeared, it suddenly dawned on Lily that Easton had been speaking to Mrs. Gui.
She had thought he was talking to her, and this misunderstanding was truly exasperating.
"Honey! Let’s go! Let’s go back to our room and sleep."
While Lily was still in shock, Easton reached out, grabbed her, and started to lead her towards the stairs.
But after only a few steps, Lily stopped, forcing Easton to halt. He turned back with confusion, "What’s wrong?"
He wasn’t pretending to be unaware; he genuinely didn’t understand what she ant.
"You go upstairs first; I need to say a few words to her."
Lily pointed to Mrs. Gui, who stood awkwardly to one side. This old woman wouldn’t let them have peace even at night; was she being a bit too much?
She was truly worried that at this rate, this old woman would start eavesdropping.
Seeing this, Easton finally understood why Lily had stopped. He glanced at Mrs. Gui, then looked back at Lily, "Alright! I’ll go back to the room and wait for you."
"But hurry up, okay? I can’t sleep without you." He leaned in to kiss her, and before she could get angry, he released her and quickly headed upstairs.
Watching his tall figure heading upstairs, Lily pouted in anger. Rembering she still had words for Mrs. Gui, she quickly averted her gaze and turned towards Mrs. Gui standing not far away.
"Young Madam!"
Seeing Lily approaching her, Mrs. Gui instinctively called out, though her voice was sowhat unnatural.
Stopping about a foot from Mrs. Gui, Lily stared at her for a mont before slowly speaking, "Mrs. Gui! Even if you’re paid to monitor us, you should at least have so basic moral standards."
"If you can forgo everything for money, then I have nothing left to say to you. I’ll discuss with Easton about having you leave this house." She wasn’t bluffing Mrs. Gui; if this woman continued her shaless ’attention,’ she could truly muster up the resolve to send her away, without even discussing it with her husband.
"Young Madam! You can’t make leave."
Upon hearing that Lily intended to expel her, Mrs. Gui panicked and grabbed Lily’s arm.
Lily glanced at the hand gripping her arm, then looked at Mrs. Gui with a frown, "Why can’t I make you leave? Is it because you’re sent by Easton’s mom?"
She stared at Mrs. Gui with piercing eyes, angrily questioning her.
"Mrs. Gui! You can try to keep this up and see if I dare to kick you out of this house."
Lily could hear the threat in Mrs. Gui’s words, and she well knew where Mrs. Gui’s confidence ca from.
