Callix Linton and Alia Linton were preoccupied with arguing, and Evelyn Taylor’s attention was also focused on them, so none of the three noticed when Easton Hols and Lily Turner had returned.
The main point now seed not to be when they returned, but rather that Easton Hols had heard the truth of the matter and looked particularly angry.
He strode over to Alia Linton’s side and stood there, looking down at her, "Why did you do that?"
At this mont, his face was frighteningly dark, his eyebrows tightly furrowed.
"Because she is no fit person to bear a grandson for the Hols family." Alia Linton shot up from the sofa defiantly, eting Easton Hols’ gaze without backing down, though the height difference forced her to look up, which diminished her aura significantly.
Hearing this, Easton Hols curled his lips coldly, "If I could, I would rather not have the last na Hols."
His face remained unpleasantly dark, his eyebrows still furrowed, yet sothing else lay hidden in his deep eyes.
"You unfilial child, you..."
"Alia!"
Seeing the conversation between the mother and son about to beco irreparable, Callix Linton interjected just in ti, halting the words remaining on Alia Linton’s lips, "It’s late. You should head ho."
Worried that things would beco even more deadlocked, Callix Linton once again issued an order for Alia Linton to leave, but as before, she remained seated without any intention of getting up.
"Dad! Could you please stop trying to kick out?"
Repeatedly chased away by her father, Alia Linton felt particularly uncomfortable, not realizing her father’s good intentions due to her current anger.
Upon hearing this, Callix Linton sighed with a headache, then shifted his gaze to Lily Turner, who stood aside, "Lily! Didn’t you ntion when we left that you wanted Easton to teach you so self-defense? Why don’t you quickly have him take you inside to teach you?"
As he spoke, Mr. Linton gave Lily Turner a look, silently signaling for her to promptly take Easton Hols back to the room.
Teach her self-defense?! When did she say that?
Initially, Lily Turner didn’t understand why Callix Linton would suddenly say such a thing, but upon seeing the look he gave her, she instantly understood.
She stepped forward and took Easton Hols by the hand, "Honey! Let’s head inside and teach now. That way, I can practice on my own at ho tomorrow."
As she spoke, she tugged him towards the door of the living room.
Self-defense! Why hadn’t she thought of learning that from him before?
She should indeed learn so self-defense so she could protect herself in unexpected situations in the future.
When Callix Linton first spoke, Easton Hols understood his grandfather’s intention, and when Lily Turner reached out to pull him away, he cooperated fully, following her steps towards the living room door.
"You two aren’t..."
"Alia!"
As Alia Linton moved to stop Easton Hols and Lily Turner from leaving the living room, Callix Linton quickly intervened, stopping her and simultaneously standing to join her side.
"You best stop this nonsense, or face the consequences yourself." Callix Linton’s voice, though low, was powerful and his attitude unwavering.
Hearing this, Alia Linton suddenly turned to look at Callix Linton standing behind her, her face displaying a rich array of emotions: hurt, anger, surprise, shock, disbelief as she gazed at her father, "You, you..."
For a long while, she didn’t know what to say, stamring over her words.
