In order not to let Alice Turner worry too much about her, Lily Turner nodded repeatedly and agreed with what Alice said, but she knew very clearly that she was no longer the pure and innocent girl she used to be. She truly beca the shaless actress Henry Thompson and Jenny York described her as.
What her future life would be like, she no longer had any confidence. Whether those two could see her as a joke, she didn't know.
"Sis! There's a call coming in, I won't chat with you now." There was no call coming in; Lily Turner just wanted to end the conversation with Alice Turner early. She was afraid the more she said, the more flaws there would be, and she wasn't good at lying in front of her sister. "Sis! I'll hang up now, we can chat when there's ti."
After saying this, she didn't care about how the person on the other end would react. After hurriedly saying a sentence, she decisively hung up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Lily Turner tugged at her collar and walked out of the elevator, leaving the apartnt. She hailed a taxi and headed straight to the hotel where she was staying.
Today she was very lucky. She wasn't recognized by anyone on her way back to the hotel, and she returned without any issues.
Entering the room, Lily Turner collapsed onto the sofa like a deflated balloon, lying on her back facing the white ceiling, her eyes unfocused and her mind a blank white space.
As she was zoning out staring at the ceiling, her phone, just placed on the coffee table, suddenly rang. She turned to grab the phone.
Seeing the caller ID, it was a string of unfamiliar numbers. Fearing it was so entertainnt reporter or fan, without much thought she decisively chose not to answer.
After rejecting the call, before Lily Turner had a chance to put the phone back, the phone rang again. She picked it up and checked—it was still that unfamiliar number. Again, she chose not to answer.
But it was as if the person on the other side was determined. Every ti she hung up, they dialed back again.
After this cycle repeated several tis, she raised the white flag in surrender and picked up the unknown call.
"Hello? Who is this?"
Not knowing who was on the other end, Lily Turner's heart was reluctant, but her tone and attitude were polite, completely concealing her true emotions at that mont.
"Hello, Miss Joe! I am Luke Crowe." Luke Crowe announced himself on the other end of the line.
Lily Turner couldn't imdiately recall who Luke Crowe was, though the na sounded familiar. "Luke Crowe?"
The na wasn't unfamiliar, and the voice sounded familiar too. She was sure she had heard this voice and na sowhere before but couldn't rember at the mont.
"We just t at Scenic Garden Apartnts half a month ago. Do you rember?" Although they had just t last night, Lily Turner was quite drunk at the ti. Luke Crowe guessed she wouldn't rember, so he ntioned the eting from half a month ago, a ti when she was sober.
Scenic Garden Apartnts!
These four words struck Lily Turner's mory. She instantly recalled the events from over half a month ago. Realizing who was on the other end of the call, her face suddenly turned cold. "Why are you calling ? Didn't we make everything clear?"
She didn't understand why the person on the other end wanted to bring up the events from half a month ago. Could it be that man was looking for trouble with her?
