Lily Turner’s expression was very serious, and Easton Hols was puzzled and uneasy. He didn’t know what she wanted to talk to him about, making the atmosphere so tense.
"If you want to talk, then talk. Why keep such a straight face? It’s not pretty!" He lifted his hand to tug at her tense face, as if trying to get her to relax a bit, but it was not very effective.
"Don’t move around. I’m not here to tell you jokes, you should be a bit more serious too." Lily removed his hand from her cheek, worried that it would act up again, she held onto it tightly not letting go.
"What do you want to talk to about?"
Easton had never seen Lily so serious before; thinking of the thing with her mom coming to see her earlier in the morning, the unease in his heart began to intensify.
After staring at Easton for a while, Lily slowly opened her mouth: "Can you show so respect for when you do things in the future? You’re a high and mighty leader outside, but at ho, you’re my husband. The relationship between a husband and wife should be equal. Don’t use a commanding tone when you talk to ."
She said what she wanted to say most in one breath, without the slightest pause in between.
When Lily said she wanted to talk, Easton thought she was going to bring up the divorce again, but to his surprise, she didn’t even ntion the word ’divorce.’
"Alright! I’ll make sure to be more attentive in the future."
He knew very well why she brought this up. Earlier when they were downstairs, he didn’t expect that she would care so much about his words and actions.
"Are you going out to drink with your friends tonight?" Lily originally thought Easton would rebut her, but to her surprise, not only did he not react angrily, but he also calmly said he would be more attentive in the future.
Not dwelling on his unusual reaction, she changed the subject while things were going well.
This girl! Quick thinking.
Easton subtly curled his lips, then nodded: "Mm! When I go out tonight, I’ll drop you off at your grandpa’s place."
He didn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone at ho. Too many people ’cared’ about him, and he worried that one of them might take advantage of his absence to visit.
"No need, I’m quite good at being ho alone." Seizing the rare opportunity to be alone, Lily imdiately expressed her desire to stay at ho.
Easton’s eyebrows furrowed imdiately, "You’re quite good at being ho alone?"
He repeated her words, but their tones were poles apart. One was very certain, while the other had a strange insinuating tone.
Lily instinctively wanted to nod, but as soon as she moved her head, she sensed the strange atmosphere. She carefully looked up at Easton.
"Don’t overthink things, alright? I was just saying that casually." Seeing his face darken, she knew he had misunderstood her again, not for the first ti.
He was quite annoying, always taking her words and running wild with his imagination.
"Just saying that casually, huh? Why do you seem so excited then?" Easton pulled back the hand held by Lily, pinching her chin and drawing her closer, "Do I make you this excited when I’m not ho? Huh?"
