Ryan Taylor initially didn’t understand what Easton Hols was talking about. Just as he was about to retort, he suddenly realized.
"Your wife is pregnant?!"
Such speculation made Ryan Taylor exclaim, feeling surprised yet happy for his good friend.
"Let’s say she is."
Faced with Ryan Taylor’s astonishnt, Easton Hols wasn’t surprised at all because this was the situation he anticipated and hoped to see happen.
"What do you an ’let’s say she is’? Do you not know if she’s pregnant?" Ryan Taylor was bewildered by Easton Hols’ words, but as a single guy, he couldn’t clearly understand the specifics of a woman being pregnant.
Easton Hols blurted out, "I’ve noticed you’re becoming more and more like Thomas, not only talkative but also soone who likes to get to the bottom of things."
This left him unsure of how to continue the conversation; it wasn’t that he didn’t know, but he hadn’t noticed any signs of his wife being pregnant yet.
However, he was confident that his wife’s belly would soon show so movent.
"That’s because you haven’t explained things clearly to us," Ryan Taylor retorted, not backing down.
"Let make it clear to you now, and you better listen carefully, I won’t say it a second ti." Easton Hols took a deep breath and then went straight to the point: "I’ll be going to tonight’s gathering alone; I’m not taking my wife."
No matter the circumstances, he wouldn’t take her, as the places they gathered were either bars or private clubs, neither of which he wanted her to visit.
"Understood."
Ryan Taylor didn’t question further and didn’t persuade Easton Hols to bring Lily Turner. He knew his good friend very well; once Easton decided sothing, no one could change his mind.
Easton Hols was very satisfied with his good friend’s response. A slight smile appeared on his stern face, but his tone didn’t change much, maintaining the previous coolness.
"Since you understand, I’ll hang up now."
He moved the phone away from his ear, preparing to hang up, when suddenly he heard the person on the other end say, "Wait a minute!"
"Is there sothing else?"
Easton Hols put the phone back to his ear, waiting quietly for the person on the other end to speak.
The person on the other end, Ryan Taylor, seed to be pondering sothing, and after a long pause, he slowly spoke, "Could you be a little nicer to my sister in the future? I know she’s willful, but she’s still a girl, and besides, it’s because she likes you that she acts that way."
That day at the Linton family ho, Evelyn Taylor saw firsthand how Alia Linton stood up for Lily Turner and turned against her. She suddenly felt she had no hope.
Hopeless, Evelyn Taylor went ho crying to her mother. Ryan Taylor happened to overhear, and since it concerned his sister and his good friend, he sat down to listen.
Seeing his sister crying so hard, as her brother, he felt very uncomfortable.
"As long as she doesn’t co bothering us again, I promise to treat her as I did before." So things can be compromised and negotiated, but so things can’t be changed. Easton Hols had his own principles and boundaries, which he wouldn’t easily alter.
Hearing this, Ryan Taylor sighed softly, "I’ll try my best to guide her, but you have to give her so ti. After all, she’s liked you for so long, and it’ll definitely be hard for her to accept this reality all at once."
