"If you don’t want to go, then don’t go."
As Easton Hols said this, he picked up a bun and handed it to Lily Turner, but his eyes remained on her, eager to see the change in her expression imdiately.
It sounded so easy when he said it, as if he were just talking about not going shopping if she didn’t feel like it.
If it were that simple, she would have quit long ago, but...
Thinking about how helpless she felt, Lily couldn’t help but sigh, "The company has already signed a contract with the TV station, and if I don’t go, I’ll have to pay an enormous breach of contract fine."
Those were Freya Yeager’s exact words. Lily didn’t hide anything from him, just wanting him to understand that she was helpless in this situation.
"Do you personally have to pay that huge breach of contract fine?"
Easton kept his eyes on Lily, and from her face, he saw two words: helplessness!
Lily nodded, "Mm!"
When she first signed the contract with the company, she noticed the unfair clause stating that she had to unconditionally comply with the schedules arranged by the company, or it would be considered a breach of contract.
As a newcor to the industry, she had no choice but to accept it silently at the ti. Later, she asked the company for a contract modification, but the boss refused each ti using various excuses.
Luckily, her contract with the company would end soon, and then she could reconsider the signing issue.
"Don’t worry about the breach of contract fine for now. Do you want to go?" Easton still looked at Lily without blinking, waiting for her answer. If it weren’t for his promise not to interfere with her work, he would have already called her company boss.
Lily didn’t answer Easton’s question. She just turned her head to look at him and then said sothing completely unrelated to his question, "Hurry up and eat, I’m starving."
After speaking, she took a bite of the bun he had handed her.
Ti was running short, and she needed to eat quickly because she had to rush back to her private apartnt afterward.
"You eat first, I need to go to the bathroom."
Easton placed the bun he was holding back onto the plate, glanced at Lily who was eating her bun heartily, and got up to leave the dining room.
After distancing himself from the dining room, he took out the phone from his pocket and imdiately dialed Luke Crowe’s number without a mont’s delay.
"Lieutenant!"
The phone rang twice, and Luke Crowe picked up.
Easton didn’t mince words and went straight to the point, "Call Robert Xander right away on my behalf and tell him that Lily is not going to J City to record the show. I’ll handle the breach of contract fine."
He could see that she didn’t want to participate in that TV show recording at all, and what was troubling her was the enormous breach of contract fine.
"Yes!"
Although Luke had many questions in his mind, he didn’t ask a single one. He simply responded and swiftly ended the call to get things done.
After hanging up, Easton didn’t return to the dining room but stood there waiting for Luke to call back.
Tap, tap, tap!
When he heard footsteps behind him, Easton instinctively turned around and saw Lily’s figure instantly enter his view. Seeing her walking over, he perplexedly asked, "What’s up?"
As he asked, he walked toward her.
"I’m full, you hurry up and eat," Lily pointed upstairs and added, "I’m going up to get the suitcase."
With that, she turned around to walk toward the staircase, but as soon as she lifted her foot, he grabbed her hand, leaving her puzzled as she turned back, "You... need sothing?"
