Just now, when he saw Lily Turner storming out of the restaurant, Easton Hols really thought she was going to run out of the house. When he saw her go upstairs, he felt both surprised and slightly relieved.
To avoid ruining the atmosphere, Easton didn’t chase her upstairs but returned to the restaurant to continue eating as Lily had asked, though his heart had already gone upstairs with her.
Lily Turner walked back to her room in one breath and didn’t close the door after entering, because she knew it was useless; he could open the door in a second.
Especially since he didn’t chase after her, there was no need for her to bother closing the door. She walked into the room and plopped down on the sofa.
How is she going to explain this to people now?
She’s about to go crazy with frustration!
Lily picked up the phone, put it down, picked it up again, and put it down again. She repeated these actions several tis and finally decided to call Freya Yeager to explain the misunderstanding.
But she called for a long ti, and no one answered on the other end. It went to automatic disconnect.
Lily didn’t give up; she dialed Freya Yeager’s number once more, but the result was the sa. The phone rang for a long ti, but no one answered.
She made several more calls, but each ti it was the sa; the call would automatically disconnect without an answer.
This was the first ti Lily encountered such a situation. Freya Yeager had never ignored her calls before; every ti she called, Freya would pick up imdiately.
It seems she’s genuinely angry!
Lily stopped dialing and instead sent a text ssage to Freya Yeager, explaining the situation in writing.
"Freya, I’m sorry! It was my husband who called Mr. Xu. He called while buying breakfast, and he only told about it when he got back."
She didn’t know if this explanation would be believed; her eyes stayed fixed on the phone, waiting for a response from the other end.
This ti, the person on the other end finally replied.
"Do whatever you like in the future, since you don’t listen to anyway."
Looking at the text Freya Yeager sent, Lily couldn’t calm down for a long ti. Freya’s ssage was straightforward, yet it carried a sharpness and discontent between the lines.
Do whatever she wants? That’s putting it lightly.
All along she had been industrious and conscientious in her work, never slacking off with any assignnt given to her, yet now she faced such accusations.
"Freya, whether you believe it or not, what I said earlier is the truth."
After a mont of hesitation, she sent a reply.
"Do you take for a fool? If your husband can afford such a hefty compensation, he must be very wealthy. No way your family can’t hire a maid, and he goes out to buy breakfast himself. You’re kidding , right?"
Freya Yeager’s response was very detailed this ti, but it was evident she was even angrier, and her emotions more intense.
An astronomical compensation!
How could she forget that?
Lily, in her rush to explain to Freya Yeager, hadn’t thought of the astronomical compensation issue at all.
Who says being rich ans you must hire a maid?
Ever since she ca to this house, she hadn’t seen a maid.
That sister Gui was just an exception and couldn’t count as a housemaid at all.
"Freya, I didn’t take you for a fool, or a ghost, either. After these years together, you should know what kind of person I am. I won’t say anything more."
After sending another text to Freya Yeager, Lily got up and walked out of the room.
