Freya Yeager’s words were filled with a strong sense of dissatisfaction, and Lily Turner could feel it deeply over the phone. However, she was getting more and more confused, completely unable to figure out what was going on.
Since when was she dissatisfied with her as her agent? And when did she ever act on her own?
Where did this idea co from that she thought she was important just because she was famous?
Lily Turner was left utterly baffled by Freya Yeager’s scolding. She felt very uncomfortable, but she didn’t angrily retort.
"Freya! I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ll call Robert and figure this out, then get back to you." Lily tried to remain calm, as maintaining a good relationship was important for their future work together. There was no benefit in creating tension.
After finishing the call, she hung up and imdiately dialed Robert Xander’s number without hesitating.
"Lily! What’s up?"
After just two rings, Robert Xander answered the phone on the other end.
Whether it was his tone or attitude, Lily Turner felt that Robert Xander seed different from before, though she couldn’t pinpoint exactly how. There was just sothing off.
However, she didn’t have ti to dwell on that now. She needed to urgently figure out what was going on.
"Mr. Xander! Freya said I called you to say I’m not attending ’Intimate Couples’ anymore. What’s going on?" She wanted to ask directly: When did I ever call you? But she didn’t dare.
"Well, you should ask Mr. Hols. He knows what’s going on." Robert Xander started hesitantly, but then his words ca out very quickly. After speaking, he imdiately hung up, as if afraid Lily would pursue the matter further.
Mr. Hols? Easton Hols?!
What does this have to do with him?
Lily Turner moved the phone away from her ear and looked up at Easton Hols in the dining room. He was engrossed in his breakfast, looking completely focused.
"Mr. Easton Hols! Did you just call our boss?" Filled with questions, she walked into the dining room and sat down in a chair next to him.
Lily had been standing at the dining room door when she made the call, so Easton Hols had heard everything clearly. In fact, he knew what was going on even without listening.
When he heard her question, he turned his head to look at her and nodded: "I had Luke Crowe call your boss earlier."
He’s always been straightforward, and besides, he had nothing to hide about this matter.
"Why didn’t you tell ? Freya misunderstood and thought I was deliberately opposing her." Lily wasn’t angry that Easton had Luke Crowe call Robert Xander, but rather that he had acted on his own without telling her first. She stood up abruptly, left her seat, and walked out of the dining room.
As she left the dining room, she heard him behind her asking, "Where are you going?"
Lily seed to not hear at all, didn’t even turn her head, and briskly walked away from the dining room.
"Hey!"
Easton Hols barely had ti to put down the half-eaten bun in his hand and hurriedly got up to chase after her. By the ti he followed her out, she was already far from the dining room entrance.
"Just sit there and eat your breakfast. I’m not running away from ho." Hearing footsteps behind her, Lily didn’t need to look back to know Easton was following her. She called out loudly over her shoulder, then quickened her pace up the stairs.
