Easton Hols saw Lily Turner lower her head, but he didn’t know she was looking at her belly; he thought she was angry and didn’t want to see him.
"Please don’t be mad at anymore. In the future, I’ll definitely consult you before making any decisions." He held her chin with one hand, lifting her head, forcing her to look at him.
"You talk so sweet, but I don’t want to hear your nonsense." Lily Turner brushed his hand off her chin but still held her head up to look at the man, "How much is the penalty fee?"
Freya Yeager had only told her it was an astronomical penalty fee, but she hadn’t clarified the exact amount. Since Freya wasn’t taking her calls now, she had no choice but to ask the man in front of her.
"What penalty fee?"
Easton Hols didn’t react right away, but quickly understood what Lily Turner was talking about. The confusion on his face abruptly shifted to a smug smile, "I don’t have to pay any penalty fee. As soon as your boss knew it was , he agreed to my terms without saying anything."
His identity was indeed intimidating, but he had always disliked using power to oppress people, and he preferred not to owe anyone favors, especially strangers.
He had already instructed Luke Crowe to transfer the penalty fee to Robert Xander, but he didn’t intend to tell her because he didn’t want her to feel any burden.
Lily Turner stared unblinkingly at Easton Hols for a long ti before speaking, "Did you really not give our boss any money?"
Initially, she really thought he was showing off, but the look in his eyes didn’t make it seem that way at all.
"I wanted to give it, but your boss didn’t dare take it." Easton Hols maintained a smug look, not forgetting to throw in a jab at Robert Xander, "Your boss is such a coward."
Even though it was always Luke Crowe dealing with Robert Xander, from Luke’s reports, he could tell Robert was a bit cowardly.
"It’s because you scared our boss."
Lily Turner didn’t question Easton Hols’s previous statents anymore. Seeing his smug deanor, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him.
Seeing this, Easton Hols frowned, "From what you’re saying, should I not have scared your boss?"
Speaking for another man in front of him and even rolling her eyes at him, how infuriating.
Lily Turner shook her head, and just as Easton Hols thought she was going to say no and intended to punish her, she suddenly said, "It’s not that you shouldn’t; you should scare him a lot more. He’s practically a profiteer, exploiting us newcors."
Lily Turner, along with those new to the company, were all subjected to Robert Xander’s exploitation; yet, as fresh faces in the industry, they had neither power nor influence and dared not voice their anger.
"Exploitation? Has he exploited you too?"
Easton Hols didn’t expect the situation to turn so quickly, and it was sowhat surprising to him. It made no difference to him with others; he wasn’t that compassionate.
Lily Turner nodded, "Over the years, I’ve generated so much revenue for the company, but... forget it! Bringing it up only brings tears of sadness."
Although she had earned a substantial amount, the rewards she received were disproportionate to her efforts.
"Alright! Let’s not talk about these sad things anymore. Let’s go downstairs to eat." Easton Hols didn’t continue the conversation with Lily Turner, pulling her along to head downstairs.
Seeing this, disappointnt showed in Lily Turner’s eyes, "You go eat downstairs; I don’t feel like eating."
