Lily Turner’s little gesture of touching her belly was quite discreet, but Easton Hols still noticed it. However, he didn’t know that she was chanting sothing in her heart. He thought she was just having a mont of maternal instincts.
"Can I touch our daughter?"
He asked for her permission with his words, but his hand had already reached over, not bothering to be polite at all.
"Daughter?! How do you know it’s a daughter?"
Lily was surprised by Easton’s words and didn’t mind his hand on her belly. She didn’t believe he could see anything, especially since she was only about forty days pregnant, and there was nothing to tell yet.
Easton smiled mysteriously: "The prophet’s secrets cannot be disclosed."
He had said that off the cuff, not expecting her to take it seriously. He was a bit amused.
But he did hope for a daughter, one who would be as cute and beautiful as her, so he would know what she was like as a child.
"Secrets cannot be disclosed? Do you think you’re a prophet?" Lily removed his hand that was moving around on her belly and mumbled discontentedly as she did so: "Don’t touch my belly. If you want to touch our daughter, wait on the sidelines."
She couldn’t discern his thoughts, but seeing his happy expression, she thought he wouldn’t care too much whether she was carrying a boy or a girl.
"Here I am, waiting on the sidelines."
Easton didn’t reach out again. Knowing Lily well, he reckoned she wouldn’t allow him to touch her at this mont, and he didn’t want anything to go wrong.
Seeing that the man behaved himself and didn’t touch her again, Lily breathed a sigh of relief, as he was not one to be easily handled. If he got improper while touching her, she wouldn’t be able to control him.
Although this child ca a little early, since it had arrived, it ant that the child was destined to be with her. She was determined to take good care of him (or her).
"The two people who ca just now, were they Evelyn Taylor’s parents?" Worrying that Easton might try to ss with her again, Lily switched the topic just in ti, but this topic gave him a slight jolt.
He thought he could keep it from Lily, but to Easton’s surprise, she guessed the identity of the Taylor couple as soon as she opened her mouth.
"How did you know?"
He was very curious about how she guessed it. Earlier, when they were downstairs, she had only seen Taylor’s parents briefly, and he and his grandpa hadn’t introduced them to each other.
Just as Lily was about to explain, she suddenly rembered Easton’s smug look from before. She mimicked his behavior and tone, saying, "The prophet’s secrets cannot be disclosed!"
She mimicked him so well; she truly lived up to being a popular actress.
"Oh! You’ve beco quite the parrot."
Seeing the woman mimic his way of speaking, Easton laughed amusedly.
Lily also laughed, but she quickly put away her smile and looked earnestly at the man lying beside her. "Why did her parents co? They must have co to ask your grandpa to persuade you to divorce , right?"
She asked and answered herself, not waiting for him to give her an answer.
Since the couple had co together, there must be so connection to their daughter.
Both families were well-established, and Evelyn’s father was an old subordinate of his grandpa. She didn’t need to guess the relationship between the two families; it was undoubtedly very good.
