Easton Hols had communicated in advance with his grandfather, worried that Lily Turner would overthink if she found out. However, not only did he fail to keep it a secret, but what he feared happened.
"What do you an I divorced you? Do you think we’re living in ancient tis?" He downplayed the situation and jokingly teased her.
"It seems I guessed correctly."
Seeing Easton Hols deliberately avoid the main point of her words, Lily Turner knew she had guessed one hundred percent correctly, otherwise, he wouldn’t have that expression.
Seeing this scene, Easton Hols’s expression suddenly changed, though not too obviously, "Don’t overthink it. Her parents were just passing by while out for a stroll. They hadn’t visited my grandfather for a long ti, so they ca in."
He wasn’t wrong. On the surface, the Taylor couple was just visiting the grandfather, but their true intentions were not spoken. Both he and his grandfather understood it but chose not to expose it.
"Easton Hols! Don’t fool , alright? I was just asking casually, I didn’t an to do anything." Pass by while out for a stroll! They never take walks and just happened to today? Perhaps today’s walking route suddenly changed, bringing them right past the entrance.
Lily Turner didn’t believe Easton Hols’s excuse deep down, thinking he was only trying to fool her, which she could understand.
He was also worried she would overthink, worried she might do sothing inappropriate, and most importantly, worried it would affect the child in her belly.
"I know very well that your two families are so close, besides you two originally..."
Before Easton Hols could open his mouth, Lily Turner spoke again, but before she could finish, he interrupted her, "There is not a hint of a romantic relationship between us. I only see her as a sister. I have no intention of fooling you."
He spoke earnestly and seriously, with no hint of perfunctoriness.
"I can tell you treat her like a sister; you don’t need to deliberately explain to ." Lily Turner raised her hand and patted Easton Hols, continuing angrily, "She just doesn’t want to trouble you and your grandfather, given the good relationship between your families."
If the two families beca unhappy because of her, she’d certainly feel guilty.
She would feel sorry for the grandfather and him, as they treat her so well, and she really didn’t want to see him and the grandfather feel troubled because of her.
So that’s what she was worried about?!
Lily Turner’s worry indeed surprised Easton Hols. Hearing her say that, he initially thought she misunderstood the relationship between him and Evelyn Taylor, which is why he seriously explained so much to her.
"My grandfather and I won’t feel troubled, so rest easy. Besides, her parents aren’t the unreasonable type." He earnestly explained to her once more, but this ti shifted the direction of his explanation.
Easton Hols had known Aiden Taylor and Harriet White since birth. As a child, he often visited the Taylor Family; as he grew busier, he visited less.
After so many years of interacting, he was well aware of the Taylor couple’s conduct and character, especially Aiden Taylor, who is extrely upright. Otherwise, his grandfather wouldn’t have valued and liked him so much.
Lily Turner didn’t know Aiden Taylor and Harriet White well enough to make random judgnts, but seeing Easton Hols’s composed explanation made her think that the Taylor couple surely weren’t people who would act recklessly.
The two of them aren’t unreasonable, but why is their daughter such an arrogant person?
