After successfully changing the topic, Alice Turner quickly walked over and sat down next to Sophia Wood. Without giving Sophia a chance to bring the topic back, she continued on this subject.
"Why did his mom co over? Could it be because..."
"What else could she be here for? It’s not about anything but Lily’s matter."
Before Alice Turner could finish her sentence, Alia Linton angrily interrupted. As she spoke, she turned sideways, facing Alice Turner, "Call that rebellious girl and tell her to co back imdiately. If she doesn’t co back, she may as well never see us again."
Because of her anger, her words were especially harsh.
"Mom! Lily, she..."
"Call her right now."
Alice Turner, although unsure why Alia Linton couldn’t stand Lily Turner nor why Sophia Wood acted the way she did towards Lily, understood her sister and knew the kind of person her sister was.
She wanted to explain sothing for her sister, but her mother didn’t give her the chance.
After hesitating for a mont in front of Sophia Wood, Alice Turner took the phone out of her purse, tossed her bag on the sofa, and stood up to walk out of the living room with the phone in hand.
Once she was away from the living room, she picked up the phone to dial that all-too-familiar number.
"Sorry! The number you dialed has been turned off, Sorry..."
After dialling, all Alice Turner heard was the notification that the phone had been turned off. Without stopping for a mont, she imdiately dialed again.
The result was predictable: it was the sa as before.
Not giving up, Alice Turner dialed a third ti, but the result was still the sa as the first ti.
Turned off! Turned off! Turned off!
After dialing several tis, each attempt resulted in the sa: the off notification.
What in the world is this girl up to? Why is she turning off her phone in the middle of the day?
Frowning anxiously at the blackened phone screen, Alice Turner realized that her sister’s phone was off, yet her mother back in the living room was still waiting for a report.
What should she do now?
She had to contact her sister imdiately to inform her of the situation back at ho so that her sister could be prepared and not walk right into trouble unknowingly.
But of all tis, her sister had turned off her phone. How was she supposed to contact her sister now?
How to contact?
At this mont, the image of Thomas Fisher suddenly flashed in Alice Turner’s mind. Desperate to find Lily Turner, she didn’t have the luxury to ponder further and imdiately dialed Thomas Fisher’s number.
"Hello! Third sister-in-law!"
After a couple of rings, Thomas Fisher picked up the phone.
His voice suddenly burst through the phone, catching Alice Turner off guard for a mont, but she quickly regained her composure.
"Can you help with a favor?"
For him, this was a trivial matter, and he should be willing to help with this favor.
"You just tell what you need to do, don’t stand on ceremony with ." Thomas Fisher replied heartily, agreeing without even asking what the matter was.
In a rush to contact Lily Turner, Alice Turner didn’t hold back with Thomas Fisher. "Can you call Easton Hols for and tell him to let Lily know I urgently need her to call back because I can’t get through to her phone?"
She relayed everything she needed to say in one breath, and as for what the person on the other end of the phone would do, she could only wait patiently.
"It’s just that? I thought you needed a big favor." Thomas Fisher figured Alice Turner had sothing major for him, but to his surprise, all she needed was for him to call his brother.
