Without any warning, Lily Turner was startled by Sophia Wood’s angry shout, especially her ears, which were now ringing terribly.
She took the phone away from her ear and rubbed her ear, which was a bit numb from the shock. After getting so relief, she put the phone back to her ear.
"Mom! I..."
Although Lily Turner felt resentnt towards Sophia Wood on the other end of the phone, she still called out to her mom. When she was about to say sothing, the person on the other end interrupted her.
"It’s , mom went to her room."
Originally, she thought it was still Sophia Wood on the other end of the line, but to her surprise, it was Alice Turner’s voice, which made Lily Turner gradually relax.
"Sis! Is mom really angry right now?" The previous shout carried a lot of anger, and she could feel the intensity of it even over the phone.
Without even seeing Sophia Wood in person, Lily Turner could imagine how furious her mother, Sophia Wood, was at the mont.
She already disapproved of her being with him, and now with his mother making a scene, her mom was even more against it.
How should she handle this? Her mom would only oppose it more fiercely than before, and surely wouldn’t go easy on her. But then, her mom had never gone easy on her.
Alice Turner sighed deeply, "Mom is extrely, extrely angry right now. Don’t co back for now; wait a few days until she’s calr."
She advised her sister on the other end of the phone not to co back for the ti being and to wait until their mother cald down. Truthfully, she was unsure herself, having just witnessed their mother’s fury firsthand.
For the sake of harmony and peace at ho, she decided to do her utmost to diate the situation.
"If I co back in a few days, she’ll be even angrier," Lily Turner paused, then continued, "Sis! You shouldn’t put yourself in the middle and feel troubled by this. I’ll face it myself."
Over the years, Lily Turner had seen Alice Turner’s dedication and rembered it deeply in her heart.
This ti, with things blowing up so intensely, she couldn’t let her sister be caught between her and her mom anymore. She needed to face it bravely on her own because, after all, this was her own matter.
Hearing this, Alice Turner imdiately opposed, "Why are you being so formal with ? I’ll handle mom here, and you just focus on dealing with your mother-in-law."
After listening to Auntie Hua’s recounting of the entire situation, she had ford a basic judgnt about Easton Hols’s mom. His mom wasn’t an easy person, and it would be tough for her sister to deal with it.
"My mother-in-law has Grandpa and Easton with her; she won’t do anything to ," Lily Turner knew that Alice Turner was worried and concerned about her, and she knew Alice Turner would do her utmost to help her, but she couldn’t justifiably pass the trouble onto Alice Turner; she had to solve her own problems.
"I can’t escape this matter, Sis! Let face it myself. I’m not as helpless and fragile as you think." Although she’s not very old, over the years, she’s already endured quite a few hardships, and she considered herself strong enough not to be defeated by such matters.
"I know you’re not that fragile, and I know you’re not useless. I just don’t want you to be too stressed and struggling," Alice Turner had already decided in her heart that whether Lily Turner allowed her to help or not, she would strive to do her best.
