Alice Turner didn’t give that incident a second thought, and in the face of Thomas Fisher’s invitation, she had already made up her mind not to go drinking with him.
Her alcohol tolerance was pretty bad, and moreover, she wasn’t really interested in drinking, especially with people she wasn’t familiar with; she needed to be cautious.

When she heard Night Color Bar, Alice Turner’s eyebrows furrowed sharply, but unfortunately, Thomas Fisher on the other end couldn’t see it.
"I’m busy tonight, can’t get away."
She refused without any hesitation.
"Then tomorrow night."
Upon hearing this, Thomas Fisher imdiately changed the eting ti.
However, Alice Turner still refused him, "I have sothing to do tomorrow night as well."
"Then the night after tomorrow, surely you’ll be free then, right?" Although continuously refused by Alice Turner, Thomas Fisher still didn’t relent and directly changed the ti to the night after tomorrow, stubbornly thinking she couldn’t always be busy.
Alice Turner didn’t expect Thomas Fisher would be so persistent, with such a determined attitude; she felt she would seem pretentious if she kept refusing, but whether she had plans for the night after was still uncertain to her.
"I can’t really say for sure about the night after, can I call you then?" She didn’t refuse but also didn’t dare to agree directly.
If she really couldn’t make it the night after, it’d be awkward, and she didn’t want anyone to think she was making excuses.
"Okay."
Thomas Fisher thought Alice Turner was just giving him a vague response, but since she was so earnest about it, he couldn’t say much.
At any rate, she didn’t resolutely refuse him again.
The man on the other end of the line didn’t object to her proposal, so Alice Turner finally let out a sigh of relief, "Alright then, I’ll call you the night after."
She couldn’t keep talking, or she’d be held up making dinner.
"I’ll be waiting for your call, don’t forget!" Whether or not Alice Turner was just being dismissive, Thomas Fisher made a point to remind her.
"I won’t forget, goodbye!"
After saying this, Alice Turner quickly hung up the phone, fearing that if she didn’t, the person on the other end would keep talking.
But just after she’d hung up on Thomas Fisher, Benjamin Shaw called again. Thinking of his attitude earlier, she wanted to hang up directly.
Still, knowing that if she hung up, he might just call back, she hesitated for a mont and finally answered the call.
"Who were you just on the phone with?"
As soon as she picked up, without even having a chance to speak, Benjamin Shaw’s angry voice questioned her.
Alice Turner retorted indifferently, "What do you want? Just say it."
She could roughly guess what he was calling about, believing he’d be calling about nothing else but the plan to visit her in-laws the next evening.
"What ti will you be going back tomorrow night? I’ll wait for you at Mom and Dad’s door." Benjamin Shaw didn’t dwell on his previous question but went straight to the point.
Sure enough, Alice Turner knowingly raised an eyebrow, "Around seven, I suppose."
"Got it."
After saying "Got it," Benjamin Shaw indifferently hung up the phone.
Alice Turner glanced at her phone screen as it turned black, tossed it casually onto the passenger seat, and drove back onto the road.
