Easton Hols’s exclamation took Callix Linton and Michael Linton by surprise. In their eyes, Easton Hols was always calm and collected, able to handle any situation with poise.
But the situation they witnessed at this mont, they had never seen before. This side of Easton Hols was a first for both of them.
"Why are you so agitated?"
Callix Linton stared unblinkingly at Easton Hols, trying to discern sothing from his face, but he couldn’t figure anything out even after a long look.
Easton Hols realized his own sudden excitent and quickly reined in the inappropriate expression, restoring himself to his usual calm state, "I’m not agitated about anything, I’m just not ready yet."
By ’not ready,’ he wasn’t talking about eting her parents; rather, he hadn’t yet appeased her mother.
Bringing his uncle to visit so abruptly seed so hasty, and the situation was unlikely to be pleasant.
"How long have you and Lily been registered, and you’re still not ready?" Callix Linton looked at Easton Hols for a while, then suddenly frowned, "You’re not usually soone so hesitant or indecisive. What’s actually going on?"
Callix Linton maintained his intense gaze on Easton, his expression turning exceedingly serious and stern, his eyes hiding an undetectable worry.
Seeing this, Easton’s heart sank, but he outwardly remained composed, "Don’t overthink it, I’m really just not..."
"Don’t try to fool , I’ve watched you grow up. I know you better than you know yourself." Callix Linton interrupted Easton before he could finish, pausing to voice his suspicion, "Did your mother go make trouble at their house?"
Ninety-nine percent that she did. The remaining one percent was just to save a little face for that troubleso daughter.
When Callix Linton said those things, Easton had already guessed Callix was thinking along those lines, so when Callix spoke his suspicion, Easton didn’t react too strongly.
"Don’t say no because I simply won’t believe it." Callix Linton didn’t give Easton a chance to lie, knowing full well that Easton would lie to not worry or anger him.
How could he not be angry about such a thing? Shifting his gaze, he turned to Michael Linton, "Call your sister and tell her to get back here imdiately."
Callix Linton, out of anger, beca extrely agitated, his face flushed.
Seeing his father so worked up, Michael quickly intervened, "Dad! Please don’t get so agitated, alright? Let handle this, and I assure you, I’ll sort it out."
Worried that his father might fall ill from anger, Michael moved closer and soothingly patted his father’s back, trying to comfort him.
"Grandpa! Please don’t be angry. Tomorrow I’ll have Uncle accompany to visit Lily’s parents." Easton Hols understood very well why Callix was so angry and agitated. He was well aware of his grandpa’s worry and urgency.
To put his grandpa’s mind at ease, he decided to formally visit the Turner Family with Uncle Michael tomorrow. His grandpa was too old to be troubled by his affairs any longer.
He realized that this was an issue that needed resolving sooner rather than later, for the peace of both families.
