Staring at the phone for a mont, Alice Turner hung up on Benjamin Shaw’s call. But as she was about to put away the phone and leave, it rang once again.
She picked it up and looked at it; it was still Benjamin Shaw calling. She hesitated for a mont, then reluctantly answered the call, "What..."
"Why did you hang up on ?"
Alice Turner hadn’t even finished her last word when Benjamin Shaw’s dissatisfied voice ca through the phone, rudely interrupting her.
She didn’t have any resentnt towards the man on the other end initially, but hearing him question her like this only deepened her dissatisfaction and resentnt towards him. "I was just sleeping and accidentally hung up when I picked up the phone."
She lied not out of fear of the man on the other end, but because she didn’t want to dwell too much on this issue with him.
Due to her resentnt and dissatisfaction, Alice Turner’s tone was not very pleasant, and Benjamin Shaw clearly sensed this through the phone.
"Where are you sleeping now?"
His tone was even worse than hers, with deep dissatisfaction laced in his voice.
"Of course I’m at..."
Alice Turner was about to say she was of course at ho, but halfway through her sentence, she suddenly realized sothing and stopped abruptly. She paused for just a mont before continuing, "Of course I’m at the hotel."
From his questioning, she sensed sothing was off. It’s very possible he was at their apartnt.
As Alice Turner suspected, Benjamin Shaw was indeed in their apartnt. Hearing what she said, he didn’t have any doubts and truly believed she was sleeping at the hotel.
"Running off to sleep at a hotel, can’t stand being at ho?" After learning that she was supposedly sleeping at ho, his tone beca even worse.
"Isn’t that ho unbearable for you too?"
Hearing Benjamin Shaw’s words, Alice Turner imdiately retorted without any anger.
Benjamin Shaw didn’t expect Alice Turner to retort like this, and her words choked him up, leaving him speechless for a mont.
As he was about to retort back, he suddenly heard her on the other end saying, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now."
After she finished speaking, she hung up the phone with determination.
Buzz...
He thought Alice Turner was just saying that and wasn’t really planning to hang up, but the buzzing sound in his ear made Benjamin Shaw suddenly realize that Alice Turner wasn’t just saying it casually.

She actually dared to hang up on him!
Benjamin Shaw pulled the phone from his ear to his face, ready to call Alice Turner back. Just then, his phone suddenly rang.
Thinking it was her calling back, he looked closely and saw that it was actually his good buddy Easton Hols calling him.
Benjamin Shaw quickly swiped on the phone screen to answer the call, imdiately put it to his ear, and said, "What’s up?"
Ever since Easton Hols married Lily Turner, he rarely contacted his three best friends unless there was sothing important. Benjamin Shaw was very aware of this, so he asked directly about the matter when he answered the phone.
"...Give my father-in-law’s phone number."
Easton Hols on the other end was silent for a mont before speaking slowly.
