Freya Yeager thought Lily Turner was just sleeping there. But when she went over to wake Lily, she noticed sothing unusual. Lily's cheeks were flush, so red they seed about to bleed. She reached out to touch Lily's cheek, and the burning sensation shocked her.
"Could you co over and help for a mont?"
When entering earlier, worried that Lily might be bathing inside, Freya raised her hand to stop the waiter from following in. Indeed, Lily was bathing, but she was clothed, a puzzling scenario for Freya.
But that wasn't the ti for such thoughts. She motioned the waiter standing at the bathroom door to co in and help.
With the waiter's assistance, Freya helped Lily onto her car. Without saying thanks to the waiter, she imdiately drove away from the hotel, heading straight to the nearest hospital.
Lily, having been drenched in cold water for an entire night, suffered both physically and ntally, tragically falling ill. The illness was aggressive; her fever soared to forty degrees and caused pneumonia.
In the evening, Lily finally woke up from her stupor, and the high fever gradually subsided. She slowly opened her eyes wide.
Seeing her eyes open, Freya, who had been staying by the bedside, leaned in closer, "Awake? Do you want so water?"
Upon knowing the reason for Lily's illness, Freya imdiately thought it was related to her, feeling imnse guilt. When she looked at Lily, she felt too guilty to et her eyes directly.
"Where is this?" Lily turned her head to look around, and the IV stand and the liquid hanging above inford her that she was in a hospital, "Why am I in the hospital?"
She ant how she was brought to the hospital, not why she ca to the hospital. Feeling weak all over with a dizzy head, she knew she was ill — and not lightly.
"You had a fever."
Freya didn't fully understand Lily's question and blurted out the answer upon hearing her ask like that.
Lily didn't continue to question Freya. Instead, she endured her discomfort and sat up. She tilted her head to glance at the cabinet beside the bed and shifted to sit sideways.
Because of what happened last night, Lily now had reservations about Freya. Wanting to drink water, she reached out to pour so herself.
Seeing this, Freya imdiately got up to help, but her hand was pushed away by Lily, "I'll do it myself."
She trusted her so much, yet she sched against her like that. If she hadn't tily realized and taken a cold shower, she couldn't imagine what dire situation she might've faced.
"Let help you!"
"No need!"
Freya wanted to help but was coldly rejected by Lily. Seeing Lily's attitude toward her, Freya knew very well that Lily was still mad at her, and it couldn't be resolved anyti soon.
Just when Freya felt incredibly awkward, her phone in her bag suddenly rang. Regardless of who was calling, she felt an imnse gratitude toward the caller in her heart.
Glancing at Lily, who had successfully poured her own water, Freya walked over to the bag at the foot of the bed, took out her phone, glanced at it, and quickly answered, "Mr. Xu!"
