Seeing Easton Hols’ helpless expression when he announced the wedding postponent, Michael Linton felt uneasy, but he didn’t say much more about it.
"Things may not be as bad as you think, stop worrying, and go upstairs to rest early." Michael Linton stood up and walked over to Easton Hols, patting his nephew on the back as a gesture of comfort.
Easton Hols didn’t imdiately stand up as Michael Linton suggested but looked up at his comforting uncle, "I’m fine, you go back to your room and rest first."
In order to reassure his uncle, he forced a casual smile.
"Then I’ll return to my room first, you should go up early too, Lily is pregnant now, don’t make her worry about you." Michael Linton didn’t force Easton Hols to leave the living room with him, but he worried about his nephew.
When leaving, he ntioned Lily Turner again, hoping it would prompt his nephew to return to his room and not brood alone here.
Easton Hols understood the intention behind his uncle Michael Linton’s words but only responded with a silent smile.
Only after his uncle turned and left did he slowly withdraw the relaxed smile from his face.
Others gradually left the living room, leaving it suddenly quiet.
Normally, Easton Hols didn’t enjoy noise, but at this mont, the quietness of the living room made him feel unusually uncomfortable.
After glancing around the entire living room, he got up and left the overly quiet place, and without a pause, he quickly walked upstairs.
Shortly after Easton Hols went upstairs, Michael Linton erged from a nearby corner, glanced at the empty staircase, and then returned to the living room.
When Easton Hols left the living room earlier, he turned off all the lights. Michael Linton didn’t turn them back on; he knew the house too well, even with his eyes closed, he wouldn’t bump into a wall.
He walked in, sat down on the sofa, took out his phone from his pocket, and quickly searched his contacts.
But when he found the number he was looking for, he hesitated.
Staring at the phone number in his hand, he didn’t react for a long ti until the screen went dark automatically, prompting him to finally make a move.
Michael Linton scratched his head with the phone, then, as if he suddenly figured it out, he reopened the screen.
This ti, without any hesitation, he decisively dialed the number he had just found.
"Hello! Michael! What’s going on?"
As soon as the call went through, the person on the other side answered.
Michael Linton was montarily stunned but quickly regained his composure and responded, "Aiden! Are you still awake?"
The person on the other end was none other than Evelyn Taylor’s father, Aiden Taylor. Through the phone, Michael Linton couldn’t be sure if the person on the other end was already asleep.
However, judging by the tone of voice, he guessed that the person on the other end was probably still awake.
"Not yet, what do you want to talk about?"
When Michael Linton called, Aiden Taylor had just finished showering and was about to go to sleep. Although he wasn’t sure why Michael Linton was calling, he figured it must be sothing important and probably urgent.
Hearing that the person on the other end was still awake, Michael Linton imdiately said, "I want to talk to you face-to-face about this matter."
